i learned alot about making a rts game with this one. and boy do i have a surprise in the works. ill post a video soon to show you guys a sneak peak. i am really surprised how many people enjoy this type of game. considering the graphics are practically non existent here. starship commander has been played over 1 million times over the web... talk about motivation for version 2. :) i promise not to re-invent the game, just gonna add some things we all have been wanting. moons, stations, trade etc... anyway, stay tuned, ill post a demo video soon.
Am I the only one who reads words in description of games as following:
"Awesome!!!" -- shitty, copy of another game, boring; "forever" -- game will close in about several months; "Best" -- mediocre at best...
Why can't we switch chat channels using keyboard? it's really hard and unreasonably long to click somewhere with your mouse when you need to type fast in mid battle.
Dang. I can't specify research on per-planet base. I see only one research list for all planets (though only if that is not newly-created one). But!!! I can't cancel research until I find the planet it is started on. Hide-and-seek game. >:-[ My second to forth post on this dang new research system. That it just doesn't work.
the planetary defense structure has missiles, each level gives a 25 str bonus to fleets over the planet. i am considering combat for enemy fleets over a planet with missiles.
Please, add minimum amount of resources to keep before starting auto-building. This will allow to keep auto-build ongoing and still have some buffer resources for building ships or some other urgent measures (like low-lvl tech research)
Resources for Researches are tied to planet, but I can't Allow/disallow auto-research on per-planet basis. That means that I can' make one planet as research and another -- as production. Same goes for exact research specification. This made researches worse than they were before.
I had 1 fleet orbiting neutral planet, then sent there another fleet with 1 colony ship. Planet was not colonized. This planet belonged to enemy previously.
