So, you start each level randomly in a room with no entrance. You build a nuclear bomb in the prologue, never see it in game yet somehow it seems you disarm the thing ("You (...) save your and the lives of others"). You are an aged nuclear physicist, yet can jump your own height without effort. The "terrorists" seem to have imprisoned you in a junk yard for spikes, boxes, flying bomb-things and urine samples. Smooth graphics, and fair implementation, but slow to play and a realism reaching about as far as a blind persons sight (when it's foggy).

Tip: You can actually test SWFs on your computer. No need to upload them! One exception is the kong API (which I don't see integrated here), in that case, first make a game *without* it, then add the API test to *that*.

Sorry to say this, but the learning value is 0. You have no chance to understand what is going on unless you have previous experience. Most of these tutorials are 1:1 copies, you may aswell have supplied a source download link. The snake games code is compressed, which makes it close to impossible to understand until it is readably formatted. I don't like being harsh, but a tutorial is meant to teach something. I doubt anyone will be able to learn anything from this. ~Art

Hm. Perhaps a bit of commenting in the actual source code? For example why the .flush() function is necessary. Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the exists variable useless? I mean, to check if an object exists you could just use if(!saveData.getSize()). The size would return 0, which is equivalent to false, which gets negated to true, supplying the exact test you need. A good tutorial, but a bit more explaining of what is actually going on might help. ~Art

Uh-huh. So you buy something, but get nothing in return. Strange kind of shop. In essence, you have shown how to subtract from a number. The bit of code you *have* gotten is even wrong, it having to be _root.total>=999, as shops usually allow you to go to 0. Oh, and, have you heard of this amazing thing called a *comment*? ~Art

I don't see my this has gotten such bad ratings. Good graphics, adequate music, sufficient challenge. True, there are lots of other games of this type about. But this one makes good terrain usage, and I love the fast paced element of the game. Two things bug me however: The surrealism, collecting astronauts with a moon buggy, come on! And even though it's minor this itches me the most: "You Crushed". It's "Crashed". "To crush" means "to squeeze". One final word: This game has an element not many others have: It kept me playing. 4/5 for that. ~Art

Congratulations, you have succeeded in moving a MovieClip! Now, let's try some collision testing, increase the frame rate to smooth the animation and perhaps add some motion blur before moving on to realistic acceleration, interaction with your surrounding etc. This is as much a game as a building site is a building I'm afraid. ~Art
