Deep breath... Ok, I get it, you just made your first game and you are proud/giddy that it works according to your competence level. Congratulations. Have you played it though? It's soulkillingly bad on a global level. You had a learning experience and now you need to up the ante and strive for something more ambitious than "it works". Fun is the one descriptor you absolutely need to achieve if you can't be original. Preferably fun and original. Originality comes with experience if you are not terribly creatve. So good luck with your future endeavours. And as a rule of thumb, don't submit a game unless you'd play it yourself if someone else made it.
14, 15, 34, 36 and 37 (that I am aware of) had solutions that did not register. They all had 2 rectangle groupings (1 had 3 I think) that could be rearranged in order without making a difference to the word or puzzle form solution, but only registered one set solution. Ok puzzle, word part was useless half the time since there already was a finite shape solution. The words only made the puzzle simpler I guess. Thanks though - enjoyed it.
ok. There is an old popcap game that did this perfectly. You had to smash gnomes though. Lots of upgrades, unlockables and different types of foes. I would suggest adding mouse control or this is simply just irritating. graphics and characters look fun.
Definitely agree, game is bare bone fancy nothing BUT I'm happy that thing its running. Next entry will be more play-worthy fun I hope. anyway thx for comment.
It's been a while since I played a tower defense that kept me coming back. You get a bonus star just for making a proper tested and working game - that is fun to play and engaging. Thank you!
Indeed, web hosted games can't quit... but the button is there because we also have it for PC and Android running exactly the same game. In those platforms it quits :)
Awesome game. I detected a bug with the sound though - I didn't manage to finish the last level in time and the ticking stayed on the next playthrough and ticked throughout... Unnecessarily stressful ;)
hmm.... Tower defense is a favorite genre of mine. This however feels very grindy. Fom what I can tell there is only one "level" with missions that are usually kill x amount or score this much. It feels grindy because you only have the one tower type to start with and you need to play over and over to vary the game play. It gets old before it gets fun. I am not sure there is a way to fix it the way it's set up? If you unlock more towers from the getgo it's probbly too easy and ends up short. Perhaps that's better in this case? Nice gfx and souns - game mechanics quite meh as is. Thanks for trying out a tower defense game though.
Here is a winning formula: The Grinder loco (14xp) + 5xp coal tender, max em out to grind levels alone. Earning gold and slower levelling - same loco combo, one passenger cart and as many coffee carts you can muster before rebuilding. You will make your passenger neurotic, addicted and you'll need to hire a toilet attendant, but it'll be worth it. Coffee adds the least drag and weight. 6 carts and 5000 gold = +11 steam thingies. Rebuild often to build up your steam cap.
Broke the game on the rich gorilla. sliced it only had one body part, wormed it and then it dissappeared with 80%ish energy left. I can only make it appear by "dance" and hit it once before it dissappears again. Not playable.
While interesting for a while it gets terribly tedious:
Obviously you want to have the fanatic zealots and the 1.5M guys in combo. Obviously you want to feed the fanatic zealots with kills, but having to spam new fanatics all the time is meh - better to be able to buy a building that produces fanatics and upgrade the building instead of making everything an active chore in slooow (IDLE) game. The scrollbar at the bottom makes is very annoying. Otherwise it was a fun theme, cool graphics and sounds etc. Could be made great if developed a bit.
Hi! Thanks for your comments, it is actually all of that in progress. Statistics are helping me to determine the points to enhance as well as your comments. Upgrades are a must, and definitely the store has to be changed for better. There's a problem also after level 10 were it tends to be tedious, that has also been detected and I'm developing and changing existing features. I'll do my best to keep this game going, and again these kind of comments is what I appreciate the most to make this a better game.
Stay in contact, I'll be posting updates. Many of the recommendations given by other players were incorporated within this week, and as well I'll do it with yours. I'm implementing what I consider as the most valuable for gameplay.
I like it, but even though I am progressing (level 34 of 39) I am still confused. The icons are not very intuitive and I wouldn't be able to play without the "?" displaying their meaning. It seems logical enough yet I still keep getting surprising results so I feel some info is lacking (the last shape in particular). Maybe a more engaging tutorial for each type/shape would be beneficial. Quite like it on a whole though.
Thank you for your kind words! Yes, at times it can be quite non-intuitive; however, this was meant to be part of the experience. I agree that perhaps the shapes should have been a little clearer, I will keep it in mind for next time :)
yeah game does not fit in the window, cutting off some info and text to the right side. Other than that this was a short, interesting and enjoyable clicker. Thanks!
Quite lovely atmospheric little game. I was expecting actual echolocation though instead of a visual representation hehe. Would have been cool to try and zero in on the artifacts by sound. Like pinging in different directions and getting different sounding echoes depending on obstacle type/density etc. I've tried "shooting" a rifle (no actual bullets) that was set up to be aimed by listening to noise density (more noise the closer you are to the bullseye) which was quite interesting.
Hey basement_dweller!
Wow, that's some really interesting stuff about a noise-listening rifle.
During the jam, we're lacking such references. Gonna search on this topic.
Thanks for the comment!
What specifically would you change to what?
