VERY fun game. Like the Thunder Dragon best, though smacking down Bahamut with the nun was fun. Weird, though: I've beaten the game a few times, but the badge isn't registering. What do I need to do to get it to kick in?
It'd be nice if the corpses stuck around a bit longer for looting. There's so much grinding, it's a bit much to expect us not to switch around between windows, and with crits and such, it's hard to always get back before the bodies disappear.
Yep, sure enough, one of the mods on the dev's website confirms overequipping is not an exploit, it's by design. I guess I should have said, "Please rethink the completely illogical, RPG-killing 'overequipping' feature." But whatever, it's not necessary to play the game multiplayer, so it's not like it matters that much. Still, it's a classic RPG trick, from way back when coders just didn't think of it then had to write code to prevent it; calling it "by design" makes it sound like the "it's not a bug, it's a feature" brush-off. Smacks of lazy coding. Especially when it's my second day playing and I already notice errors in the in-game instructions for things like rest/XP and stat effects, have navigation problems, hear people talk about broken equipment, etc. Not asking for perfection, but when you're asking for money, you have to step it up.
When you're fully rested, you get "triple XP." When you're tired, you get "double XP." So why, when I become tired, does my XP gain get cut in half, instead of 2/3?
If I'm deliberately leaving civilians to die instead of picking them up, why should I give a damn about hitting them? There should be no cash penalty, let alone the insane time penalty in Dead on Time.
This game is really fun and funny, but insanely buggy. One load, my base disappeared and I was invulnerable. The next, I'm under constant attack (literally, "Under Attack" flashing and waves of enemies nonstop) for ten minutes (until I ran out of money to replace the minions and they killed me). I even started a new game, and they're STILL attacking me in the tutorial!
Fun game! Get some good boots, and you can do all the caves and villages and most ambushes with just the backup pistol. That said, I do love the deathray; it's a magical mystical death machine of joy.
Fun tiny RPG. Easy, not too much variety. Issues: *When an enemy dies near the edge of the screen, their loot bounces offscreen and cannot be collected. *No off hand items for non-warriors. *Some quest rewards let you choose equipment outside your class -- why bother? *Much ranger equipment gives strength...strength NEVER benefits the ranger, so why do that? *Most of all: It claims you can choose your path, but that's only slightly true: It's a major pain (heavy grinding) to switch from the factions you're predisposed towards, and there seems to be no way at all to raise you reputation with the class-related factions outside your own.
