Wow....1/5 for furning a skill based game into a luck based game. I am disappointed. You have to be pixel-perfect even at level 8. I can understand a later level, but being so much as one pixel off on level 8? That's really not fun.
It's so luck based, it's not fun to get the 3 day badge. 4 days would have worked out without me wanting to 1-star it for the badge's frustration factor.
Shift never grew old for me, from its first incarnation until now.
Honestly, I'm surprised this thing hasn't been picked up by the PS3 devs. Seriously...Echochrome, but not this?
Adding multiple people to control at once is a new twist---having to watch out so you don't kill them with switches is fun!
Honestly, I'm looking forward to whatever else you make as a dev. Bravo!
The Good:
1. Nice music. Fun & happy. I like that in a flash game.
2. Tower defense is fun.
The Bad:
1. I can't see enemy hit points. Far more difficult to gage, but this may be intentional.
2. Limited in strategy. It's really just as easy as "Buy a fire tower, buy an air tower, upgrade all the way, then buy ultimate towers & upgrade them all the way." I beat it my first run through using that technique.
Overall, a fun game. Highly recommended for newcomers to the genre.
Have sensitivity for those of us with only laptops & touchpads. Give an alternate way to puke. Lost one star there, otherwise, very clever!
Also, -5 stars for the blasphemy.
I love it. This is the kind of thing that has made me a Reflexive fan over the years---I bought so many of their games, and this is one of the most pleasant.
The good:
1. Long game is fun.
2. Upgrades are fun.
3. Story is flavor.
The bad:
1. No autofire. This is murder if you only have a touchpad laptop, and is silly in any case.
2. No sense of scale AT ALL. "+20 damage." Well how many HP does any freaking thing have? "-20 build time"...is that seconds or what? What is the current build time? I have no idea, and the game sure isn't telling me.
3. Half the length of the game is just tedium. I suppose you already know from the other comments.
4. Strategy guide is, sadly, not helpful.
Needs a save option --- you spend 2 hours getting to the final board, discover it is *extremely* difficult, and lose all your progress by leaving. I gave it 5/5 anyway, so maybe the dev will add the feature.
Shows promise. A tutorial might be in order, to explain how the wall jumping and ledge-grabbing works. And maybe a "You did it! Now leave feedback." for getting all the jewels. :)
The Good:
1. Nice catchy music.
2. Smooth, simple gameplay.
3. Plenty of achievements to keep us busy.
The Bad:
1. No autofire. Seriously, what is the point of no autofire? When *wouldn't* we want to fire? What is the reason to make us press down on the mouse button non-stop? That alone reduces my rating by a whole star, because it is quite inconvenient.
2. The music, while good, is a bit short, and doesn't loop so much as repeat.
Biggest gripe: On the 3rd bonus stage, make change the color of some trucks to anything besides "star yellow." It isn't fun, and makes you have to play that level many times.
