It's not terrible. It started off with possibilities, but quickly got kinda... meh. The "overheating" thing takes a LOT of the benefit out of buying the firing speed boost. Sure I can fire a lot in a short burst, but then I can't fire at all for a few seconds, which is all it takes for a couple of those sword-wielding guards to get in and then... there's nothing you can do there, you can't fire at them, your infantry can't do sufficient damage to them. What's worse is that if you hit the "fire" button (I use spacebar) before it's cooled down, it ups the heat again, so not only does it not fire, but it takes longer to fire again! Why would it overheat if it didn't even fire? But that aside, it could use larger maps, a little more variety in the units, maybe some in-between-map upgrades perhaps. The background artwork is pretty cool, the sounds and music are pretty decent. A storyline would be nice too. It's a good try and definitely has potential. 3/5
It's too bad level 8 isn't the last level, then I could actually get some fun out of the game before quitting. Getting tired of Retry... Retry... Retry... Forget 3/5, if I can't get more than 7 decent levels out of a game, why would it deserve a higher-than-average rating? 2/5
Not bad, but difficulty ramps up too quickly and even worse, it's got those stupid puzzles that start off with something moving and you have 2 seconds to figure out what to do. If I wanted to use snap-action reflexes, I'd go play Counter-Strike. Which sometimes I do, but not when I'm in the mood for a puzzle game. The music is nice, and most of the puzzles are pretty clever. 3/5
Finally! Play this ages ago and hated it because it was too difficult, but I decided to knuckle down and figure it out. I admit I had to use the walkthrough a couple of times, but it at least was a good storyline, great atmosphere, beautiful artwork. Great game overall, definitely 5/5.
Needs the ability to reset your tech points. Could use more variety in the enemies. Could use a grammar check in the worst way, the Engrish is killing me. The first couple of levels need a better tutorial. I got to level 6 before I even realized I could upgrade towers and level 7 before I realized you could build a factory to produce warships. Yes, I know, I'm dumb for not realizing that, blah blah blah, but there should be a more in-depth tutorial. Or maybe there was and I missed it because the Engrish gives me a blinding headache, heh. Otherwise pretty well done, didn't run into any major bugs and it is pretty fun. 4/5
Not bad. Would be nice to be able to save on Kong like 99% of the other games. Kinda got stuck and don't have time to figure it out. Can't imagine wanting to trudge through it all up to this point again. Oh well. 5/5 up to this point, but I'm probably only about 40% through, so that averages out to... 2/5.
Definitely a very nice game, nicely done, well designed so far. I have but two minor gripes: 1) The English in the intro should get spell checked, I'd be happy to do it for you for free if you're open. ;) 2) The pathing needs some work. When you're next to an open door and want to go through it by clicking past it, but your guy just bumps into the wall. Sure, it's easy enough to click a few times to get him to maneuver to being in front of the door and then through it, but it just kinda takes away from the "polished" feel that it otherwise has, you know what I mean? Neither are worth deducting a star for though, just open thoughts. I love the music too. 5/5
Ugh, so many things wrong with this game I don't even know where to start. I guess I could start with the lack of auto-fire. My right hand/index finger are in agony. Thank you so much. You couldn't just let me hold down the fire button like every good shooter? We could go on to the lack of variety. After playing through a dozen or so "bubble battlefields" the largest I was able to grow my tank only made me shoot a little faster. There's also the "view" size. It couldn't be a little bigger? Getting tired of being surprised by tanks that come into view and fire with absolutely microsecond reaction time allowed to dodge, if that. The whole game revolves around circling the outer edge of the bubble, firing blindly into it hoping you hit something. Just no fun. I know BT 2 is better, but I don't see why *this* one ranked high and got badged. 2/5
I just noticed a time limit. Why? Gotta take a star for that. I *hate* time limits, and when there's no reason behind it except for arbitrary anger-making, it's even worse.
Not a terrible idea. A little misleading though as there doesn't seem to be any actual atomic chemistry involved, could've just made them gems and called it "Magic Gem Removal Puzzle" or something, heh. But it's not bad... a little frustrating... I got to level 7 before I realized you couldn't just win by randomly clicking, heh. Nice soothing music though. 4/5
I think this is one of the best games that has "micro-payment" options. You can get a LOT of fun out of it without the map pack or booster abilities. It's funny how entitled people feel when it comes to things. This is one of the FEW games that doesn't utterly cripple itself without kred-based purchases. It is well designed and well done. The devs obviously put a lot of time into making it what it is today and deserve the few pennies they'll get from those that buy the bonus packs. I play this game way more than some of the purchased games I've played. By the time you clear all 6 "free" maps, how much time have you put into the game? Was it worth it for FREE? It's not like some games (SS, HoG) that cripple the game to near unplayability unless you pay. Does no one remember the days of shareware? One level for free, 2 more for $10? Or would you rather pay $49.99 for a game that bores you 1/4 of the way in?
"It's all about the log traps and black tar" fantastic, except you don't get enough money for them at the start of The 101... anyone want to post a useful strategy for getting started with The 101? Seems no matter how I try to corral them, nothing works for long. The furthest I get is the first Captains stage. They usually end me there. And the "did it without losing any lives", I'll believe that when I see a video of it.
