I really enjoy logic as a subject, so I really liked this game! Yes, there are faults, and it's not a perfect game, but it's not often that you find such an exercise in educational subject matter (one which the world could use a LOT more of these days no less), so I'm going to give it the full five.
The player could use a little - just a tiny bit - of backstory, explanation, and/or tutorial on why you have this ghost and what it does. "Press F" doesn't really cover what its purpose is. Spirit fetching, lever pulling, timeout feature, and body switching could be pointed out with onscreen text. So could the gear on Level 1, because I died several times before realizing that it was not a background element. Some background/foreground elements look too similar (like the level two pillars).
Nice overall design. The green/blue text colors could be more differentiated, though, and less glow effect to make the text sharper and increase readability.
Exit game does nothing; arrow keys are not limited to the game screen; I died after collecting all fireflies and triggered a bug that did all sorts of messy things that didn't resolve on restarting the level or selecting another one. Messy bug as seen in various levels thereafter includes any number of: reloading the level in a loop only if I haven't released my ghost, reloading in a loop no matter what, permanently assigning my character the running sprite, permanently assigning my character the standing sprite, disabling the WASD keys, disabling the end door, not resetting the spirit count upon starting/restarting a level.
Wait, because I had no light on my keyboard and couldn't see the numbers to type in the answer to a timed equation that I wasn't expecting, I'm suddenly thrown all the way back to the beginning of the game?? No, thank you!
I see. The game doesn't teach you -extended- handwashing. The first few times you do it, it just takes a quick tap. I didn't know you could hold down the spacebar to keep it going.
Thanks that you tried again. In the carrot level, it is just dirt washed off, that goes instantly. Afterwards, the virus needs to be washed thoroughly. You are right, there could be a better explanation for that.
I must be missing something. I can't finish level 2 (apple). I need to open the gate to get the apple. Gate infects me. Walking increases infection. Handwashing does not stop the infection. I can't reach the apple and get back home without dying, and I can't get clean. What am I doing wrong?
The targeting system is really messed up. A penguin will continue chasing after a hidden turtle until he actually finds it, then will travel back across the entire stage to another turtle that has also now hidden itself... ad nauseum. Penguins will also try to chase their target turtle without end if they're stuck behind a bush even if there's another turtle right on top of them. I would really like to use my bombs to protect my penguins from damage instead of just to stop them from being idiots.
