Would it be too much to ask to have the collected keys listed on the menu half, rather than the play are where they hide incoming monsters (and their words)?
My, how fun. a game of trying to bounce magnetized ball bearings into a goal, where all the ball bearings are repelled by the goal, attracted to me, accelerate faster, and have a higher top speed than myself. Mostly I'm just glad there's no time limit, since I spent at least 3min on the last level practically unable to move, being surrounded by 10-15 turtles. would be nice to be able to at noticeably move under such conditions.
Well, giving the game another chance, it seems less frustrating than the last time, likely as I have a better feel for the game now. Being less irritated by the time I hit the 2nd boss, meant I was patient enough to pass it this time. Made it to the 3rd (final?) boss stage, but... I'm totally lost as to what to do now. I can activate the nodes and get in the building, but inside the little room with arrows around the outside... no idea there. I do endless loops around what seems to be a spinning gear w/ camera and alarm beam, and back to the start point. I can press the nearby button infinite times. Nothing seems to happen. I must be missing something, but...
not bad, all in all. however, with it never-ending, and no pause button, either... i passed 20k pts and suicided to stop. would have been nice to know from the beginning that the stacks are First In, First Out order, instead of whatever's on top.
I get the feeling that lead balloons exist solely due to how rarely bomb towers were used in the 1st game. And, on that note, if lead balloons are only immune to 'prickly' things (according to ingame hint), why do boomerangs not affect them?
With a publish date of 03/2007, i realize that further changes/updates are unlikely. However, some things would be very nice additions.
First off, a highlighted weapons range indicator for all the bots, say green for me, red for foes, that i could turn on/off from within a match. I know that each weapon has max and min ranges, but the numbers really tell me nothing here. a visual indicator of when I've traveled out of targetting range would be very handy.
Second, as many have mentioned, a way to forfeit an unwinnable match would be nice.
Lastly, slightly more detailed command options, say not just a 'follow that bot' command, but rather a 'follow that bot at XX distance' command, where XX is picked by the player. Would be especially useful if the only range indicator we ever get is the numbers listed in the component descriptions.
Largely a fun game, but these could improve it a bit, I think. 4/5
Every time I lose I gain an UltraRareEx Card. That's great! So... what is it? Why do I care, even, since the decks are predetermined? If there is some change, it'd be nice if the deck choice screen showed that.
Winning a 'Final' also gives a 'UltraRareEx Card', which seems to be a silver bordered replacement of the Lv2 card for that deck. Same name, with an 'Ex' at the end of the title, but other than looking slightly spiffier, is there some other change?
In short, some clearer feedback to the player would be nice.
i have to agree that the bosses are royal pains. is it explained anywhere what the power ups actually do? Also, why does continuing after stage 6 take you back to stage 6, unless you've hit the 2nd boss? (only made it to 2nd boss before patience expired)
Oddities on last 2 quests: any M-raids picked up before quest count against the 10 you need, regardless of whether they're in inventory any more. If you picked up 10 earlier, it's an instant quest complete. The Full Orb quest description says 5 Orbs, but both times I've played, quest counter requires 10. At turn in, only 5 go away, but cannot sell other 5, get a message about 'Currently a quest item' or some such. Still able to drop them, at least.
interesting game, but. it was near impossible to get either Old Glory or the Gravity Cannon to actually fire, making it hard to justify buying them. 1 level passed w/o ever using Old Glory, though not for lack of trying. :(
