Subject matter has never really mattered to me... you can take the blood out of a blood game, or the poo out of a poo game, and it's still the same game. Heck, they even turned Wolfenstein 3D into some kind of Noah's ark game for SNES... but it was still the exact same game. Anywise, good game.
Not bad. I would say that using the number keys to change weapons is not the greatest for this kind of game, but it doesn't matter much since you almost always want to use the highest-numbered available weapon anyways. I think it would have done better with a different powerup system altogether, but hey... I'm old-fashioned like that.
I'm with Blackadder, any more or less functional game deserves at least a 2 in order to separate it from the total wastes of time made by people who are just trying to attract attention, pity, hate, and/or very small sums of money. Luckily, this game is better than just the minimum, so I gave it a 3.
In turret mode, it's almost impossible to shoot an enemy that's right next to you, because of the way the screen swings wildly when you move the cursor near your turret. I'm getting tired of going 7 days in a row on Ultimate Defense without getting touched, and then dying on day 8 when an enemy finally gets all the way to my turret, and I miss 6 times because the screen is shaking to and fro. But, that's my only major beef with this game. Nicely done.
Glad to hear that Gamma 2 will come eventually. As for this game, It's a real improvement on the first. The scroll mode helps you understand the maze better, and I like how the bonus letters make a huge difference to your final score.
Pretty good, but I hope you won't be offended if I say you sequeled the wrong game. I think you know what I mean. ;)
P. S. ...... GAMMA BROS. 2 PLEEEEEEZE!!! Or is it already out yet?
After playing it once, I am now the all-time champion of easy mode, a record which will probably not last long. The question is, will I ever play it again?
OK, that was kind of short, but I was still in the middle of the game. This is awesome. I love games that strain your ability to pay attention to two things at once. Totally unique (as far as I know), a new "spin" on music games. Super fun, 5/5, A+, you did it!!!
Hey man, don't get discouraged. I don't understand the low rating either. Maybe I sounded a little harsh before, but I gave this game a 4. (and by the way, mepixa, I gave Color Buster a 5). I don't know if I'd say that people have "standards too high" or that "rating doesn't work", but... Look, not every game that is great at what it does is going to connect with the Kong "mainstream". Many people just won't like the type of game, no matter how well done it is. But if the majority of the comments are positive, that means that people who do play it for more than 5 minutes are really enjoying it, even if it is kind of a "niche market".
Great and unique game, but it could be better. It's kind of frustrating how being in second is no better than being in last. I think it would be better if you got, say, 3 points for crossing a line first, 2 for second, and 1 for third, or something like that. That would eliminate some of the luck factor and reward you for consistently being near the front of the pack the whole race. Anyways, it's not that big of a deal, still a super fun game. Can't wait for Crazy Mammoths II!!
