Not bad, but still just a shadow of "Motherload". The latter was better paced, had more content and even included an unexpected boss fight at the end. The only reason why Utopian mining has better metascore is because Xgen only uploaded a demo of "Motherload" on Kongregate.
So the demons rised from hell to wipe out furries. You know, the legions of damned are probably trying to redeem themselves by accomplishing such a heroic deed.
In intro it is said that a cliche prince of darkness is trying to take over the world and it is you, who must stop him. But in reality you take command of weird vodoo people, that are invading Europe and kill fair people, like knights, crusaders, holy avengers. I feel confused...
The artwork and visual style is great, eagle puzzles are original. But combat system is total crap. All you have to do is just to spam S or A button. No special strikes, no block, no combos... Because of that it's only 4/5
Tip: Plasma ball, Sonic Shot, Frag bombs - the only useful weapons in game. H bomb is the crappiest.
Also, if you stand on the first star in the bottom right coner, then the last boss cant hit you.
-Magnetism - actually a very useless skill. Game starts next leve onlyl, when you have collected enough pixels. So practically it only helps you to skip the level faster and encounter even more numerous and powerful enemies with lame ship (yeah, more Magnetism = less FR, FS and regen). However, if you have maxed out all offencive abilities - why not?
- Pixel Increase - the same overall effect as magnetism: you complete the level faster with weaker ship.
-Score increase - never really used that skill. However, it is crucial, if you want to get high in leaderboard. Still, it's better to take SI after you've maxed out regen, greens and reds.
My suggestions:
- "Magnetism" should pull up not only pixels, but also items. This would be very useful.
- "Pixel Increase" should be replaced with "Item drop increas
