Tedious. Just tedious. And as for the 'join game' button - I tried ten games to join ANY game, and each time by the time it'd loaded the game was full. Why on earth can't the game reserve your place before it starts the loaded process to avoid this? I had to start my own game to get anywhere.
There's a lot of luck, and no real losing conditions. maybe a target score per level would be good? Additionally, I found that clicking on two men in turn led to unpredictble results
A lot of people seem to be coming across the 'balls pass through lines' glitch, so I think I ought to point out that balls only impact on lines when they are moving downwards. If they're going up, you can't deflect them. I'd like to see this 'fixed' too, but I don't think it's a bug so much as an intentional feature of the game.
Needing to click on an item that is illogical, tiny AND moving is a very dumb move for any puzzle game, even a surreal one, but appart from that tiny problem the rest of the game is good.
It's OK, but I really wanted a means of replaying each mission individually so I could get the rest of the achievements. Having to do the whole game through again to get to the ducks and awesome ratings you missed sucks.
A nice introduction to object-orientated programming. Would make a good educational tool. A few more components would be nice, and I think the interface could be streamlined a bit, but otherwise very nicely done.
Is the screen supposed to follow Jesus or something? I just ended up bouncing up off the screen and being invisible for ages. Looking at a static screen is not fun.
The game contains one major flaw which needs to be fixed. Increasing your starting mana doesn't have a huge effect on how quickly mana regenerates, but it does increase the cost of improving your mana store and regen rate in level. It is therefore better to stop at the second or third 'Total Mana' upgrade rather than go all the way to the top with it.
You can actually accept a loss on level 5-2 and still get through the game with 25 animals, so it's technically possible to do it with 26. The levels I had to accept losses (1 animal each) were 1-3, 1-4, 2-2, 3-3 and 5-2. All the others I have done with zero losses.
It's a cute idea, but I really wanted to be able to do more stuff than choose between killing people and saving people. For instance I tried to give the child a balloon - no response. Could have been a lot better with a few more interesting options. Also the text seemed painfully angsty even when you were a NICE squid monster. *SPOILER* WhisperedKiss, to defeat the submarine, simply catch its own torpedoes and put them behind it so they strike it, or drop mines on it a few times. It takes a few to kill it. *SPOILER ENDS*
