Okay, gave it a week to really get a feel for it. After Pluto or so, research upgrades don't do diddly, except for ship speed. You can safely ignore anything that isn't blue or white. Crew luck Peters out a little later, I think. You can also quit adding engines and miners after about 8 each. I took both up to 10 with no noticeable difference.
Hoping that there is a good ending, because the grind is really getting on my nerves
OK, you got a good start. Reminds me very much of the early RPG's like Wizardry and Ultima. I've only just started level 1, so I'm not going to rate it yet.
A couple suggestions. There is no mention of skills in the tutorial. It took me a few tries to figure out how to "equip" them. Once I got it, they worked fine. Second, I would like to know more about the creature I'm fighting. Rarity is nice, but does that mean it's harder to kill? And by how much? Exact hit points are not necessarily required, but a suggested skill level would be nice. Other than that, I'm liking this game quite a bit. The inventory, skills, and stats systems all make sense, once you get the hang of navigating them. The artwork is very nice and the music is well done. Still trying to figure out the level system - maybe a short explanation in the tutorial?
I tried. I really did. I fiddled with configurations, reset a few times, and played with the "Family trait" tree. I propose a new acronym - JAFIG. No real gains, no real goals, no accomplishments. Just something to suck up processor time and bandwidth. 2/5, but only for the "skill synergy."
I'm sorry - I really tried. I gave this game a full four weeks before coming to a decision. The skill tree is useless, as are the legacy points. No noticeable change in character advancement. I understand it's an incremental game, but it shouldn't be THAT incremental. 16 retirements, give or take, the "Family Traits" tree more than 50% filled in, and points per second don't noticeably change. 2/5
As a game, it's decent on concept. As someone who cooks for a hobby, I find it too silly to be taken seriously. Fun little time waster for a few minutes.
When I see something from Bontegames, I get excited. As usual, the art and music are seamless. That being said, I'm really not a "find-the-object" type. However, as support staff for two cats (one of which resembles the one in the game), I found it charming and realistic. Seriously, you have no idea what the definition of clutter is until you have both kids and pets. And trying to find either is just as much of a challenge, some days. Well done. Tell the ankle-biters that we appreciate their contributions. :D
5/5 - challenging, but not an impossible pixel-hunt. Took me a minute to figure out what the old lady in the box was for. Once I got that, the rest was pretty logical. Well done.
OK, gave it a couple days to make sure I have all my facts straight before I comment. What you have here is a great concept. However, it's way too big for a flash game. Once you get over so many resources, so many solar systems, and so many moving parts on a screen, it lags HORRIBLY. To be fair, I'm running this on an older Intel Core2, so that may just be my machine. The auto-collect feature barely works, and the mining works not at all, even with the highest level pick chosen. The upgrade system (which works very nicely, BTW) seems unbalanced. By that, I mean that you don't get a whole lot of bang for the buck. The good points are that you have a great concept here. I like thew galactic conquest theme and the ability to search out new clusters. The money/resource/energy tables make sense and the science tree is really well done. The controls are a little quirky, but otherwise well thought-out. Overall, a great concept, but not-so-great execution.
THANK YOU FOR DELIVERING US FROM IDLE HELL, EVEN IF ONLY FOR A FEW MINUTES!!!!!
Fun little game. Not my style, but good. 3.5/5, but a bonus half star for presenting something that does not require a good night's sleep.
Okay, your hear me complain abut balance quite a bit. Usually in the other direction. This game is ridiculously easy. Once you get past level 30 or so, the "active click" becomes useless. Beef up your troops, expand the buildings, wash, rinse, repeat. I echo other people who want a shift+click for batch purchases. Mouse buttons have only so much life - let's not send them to an early grave through overwork.
On the plus side, The artifact/reward system is a nice touch. I can't tell if it really did any good, but it was kinda cool to find enchanted brooms, shades of vigilance, etc. Also, the investment system was well thought out. Perhaps a bit TOO well thought out, but a good idea. 3/5, a few minor tweaks will push it to t 4.
It pains me to rate it 3/5. All the Cube Escape games are awesome. Until the end of this one. The time trial just flat-out stinks. I tried to be fair and ran through it a dozen times before giving up. The solution is either so obvious that I'm looking right through it, or so precise that a single misstep means disaster.
Okay, I gave it a couple weeks just to be fair. Unbalanced. WAY unbalanced. I started a game, ran it up to a Masters degree, then took a short vacation. I come back after 7 days, my character is now 80 years old and useless. Respawn only adds 18% to my grandchild (okay, maybe realistic given inheritance taxes).
2/5. Little replay value, Spam (as noted in facebook invites)little rewards for much investment.
