Golden level "Fat Cat" achievement is for accumulating $10,000. With all upgrades, I only barely cracked $10,000 total income on level 20, forget having that much unspent. It took me about 5 tries to get the silver Fat Cat ($5,000) on level 18, and my total income was around $8,000
Followup on my previous comment about job achievements not working: refreshing the page unlocked all of the achievements I'd earned but didn't register. The ones that weren't unlocking were higher level ranks of jobs that I'd unlocked before resetting. I'd had two or three each of the fast food, restaurant, life guard, and cleaning job achievements, and after the reset, none of the achievements for higher jobs in those were registering. I did activate the computer programmer and zoo jobs for the first time after the reset, and those achievements unlocked as normal.
Okay, thanks for typing all that out -- it helps. It sounds like there still may be some job bugs, but we're not seeing them when we play on firefox/chrome so we'll need to figure out what else might be causing it.
No, guys, see, the final boss is super hard because the lag from the memory loss doesn't affect your allies' fire rate. See, if he had any less HP, he'd be missile and sniper gibblets before he took one step. It's brilliant game design, solving one massive game flaw with another equally massive game flaw.
The game really needs a flee battle bar. When I'm up against 3 enemies that all have like 5 armor bars and hit 4 damage apiece and I start off with none of the elements they're weak against, I don't want to slog through 10 rounds of useless battle before getting bumped back to the equipment/battle select screens.
Defense tokens either need a mass buff, or to be removed completely. In the early chapters, enemies don't do enough damage for defense to be a concern, and in the later chapters they're only useful in stalling for time, and then only if you manage to get 3, otherwise you're still going to take damage. And I'm only stalling for time because I'm getting defense tokens instead of the tokens I need.
It's appropriate that by around danger level 40 the bosses can sometimes one-hit my cabin; it's like the thermal exhaust port of my Death Star, what with the level 20 lasers that can kill any enemy in one shot from a range that exceeds the screen area and nigh-invincible proto-shields. I mean, I couldn't afford level 10 proto-shields until about level 80, but that's because I stopped caring about income about 40 levels prior since my 4 level 3 proto-sheilds could shrug off anything that wasn't myself.
When talking to the minion keeper, if you're looking at a minion's move list, and it has more than 4 moves, the left/right page buttons are directly over the "release" button, so every time you change pages your prompted to confirm whether you want to release your minion. Please fix this.
Comparison to "Papers, Please" is inevitable, but even considering the 72 hour time limit on this, I feel the potential for this concept still falls short of that. It's not a bad concept or exeution, just someone else did it first and better.
Bombs are way to slow of an attack. It takes several seconds to throw them, then another couple before they explode. This means they're only useful against stationary enemies, or ones that haven't aggro'd yet, but they're not an improvement over spells in terms of damage to even be worth the risk of leaving yourself vulnerable will enemies rush you and being unable to evade or block.
Easy to do for people who learned the alphabetical 50 states song in elementary school. :)
Spelling acceptance is a little wonky sometimes. Illinois and North Dakota wouldn't take on the first couple of tries (I think they ended up working when I didn't capitalize them).
@Shadowfire0: Britain is one of 4 countries that make up the United Kingdom, the other three being Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland. It's complicated. And I believe England technically doesn't include N.I.
Not sure I see the point to farming beyond the second or third screen at the moment, as the harder enemies still only give 2xp and 1gold when you kill them (up to the goblin gardens, at least).
I flamethrowered the first boss as he was crashing, and it spit out a bajillion jewels, slowing down the game ridiculously, and then the level ended before I could suck up any of them.
