@Order Venom; This game took even less creative input than that; the superhero theme is very similar to Clash: Rise of Heroes... for the record, C:RoH has a very different system than CotD.
Interesting concept, but I'd say the expression 'to clever by half' applies here... The system, while original from what I know, is pretty convoluted, and I find this distracts from the actual strategy involved. That and this doesn't quite seem complete; eg cards should appear larger when hovered over, if I don't want to play full screen.
What card did you buy? Keep in mind that you'll only see the cards for the current hero's powersets when editing a deck. The best way to see the cards you own is to click on the "View My Cards" button found on the edit decks tab. If you purchased a card and didn't get it, let us know by using the 'report a bug' link.
How you make money: don't waste time killing non-bounty enemies, unless it's conveneint. Take "Treasure Hunt" Missions whenever you can, followed by Merchant Raids and Navy/Pirate Killings, choosing by price. First, upgrade your cannons, the first level up on them will make killing enemies easier than you think. Then purchase the Dragon Ram but don't upgrade it, just use it for it's mobility, as it makes a lot more of a difference than trying to upgrade your speed. Killing enemy ships is as simple as making them trail you, then weaving so your cannons hit them front on and your too far by the time they've turned.
So I develop my entire strategy around being able to outmanouvre and outrun my opponents, avoid attacking strongholds and make as much as I can, but then the boss is a stationary sea monster... just perfect -.-
Why on earth do the Navy only ever attack you, even when there are other pirates around? Fun game, but that really annoys me. Also, I think any secondary cannon weapons should have their own reload times, otherwise there's not much incentive to spend money on these, IMO.
Little crazy when your changing between to a closer perspective and there are things to avoid as you can't exactly tell how big you'll be, but apart from that a very fun game that fits the concept well.
There is another Raider game Psuedo made but never fully completed(instead making these 2). It's also done in a different style(similar to Metroid), but for those interested anyway, here's a link: http://www.fighunter.com/?page=gameplay&g=RDR0
No idea why all the upvoted comments are seeking explanations as to why the cogs turn, etc. Seriously, do you go into every physics game expecting for an explanation of everything? There are plenty of games with perpetualy turning cogs; just because this one has a little bit of story doesn't mean they have to explain all of that. It's just a game, for goodness sake.
You can get 2-2 with 0 lives without that much difficulty, you just have to jump out into the gap with the key so you fall in it directly then you can jump off the wall, just grabbing the key in time. Also, I've seen some replays of 5-2 being done wih 0, but it's extremely difficult and comes down mostly to perseverence until your jumps cause the cart to move perfectly, and get the second wheel that little bit higher into the hole so you can push it over.
I've played this game many times now, it's always fun ot come back to and although I know how you save 25 lives, I always wonder if 5-2 could be done with 0 lives, also... It probably can't but I always find myself trying to get the cart to bounce enough so it will get over the spiked hole without needing to leave a carcass there. Can get the first wheel over no problems, but it'd be awesome if someone actually pulled it off.
Thanks, Dragon. Which link are you referring to?
