Ok, yeah, mages start out with a bit lower physical defense and higher magic defense, but in the end it all balances out depending on what you're exposed to, right? Also, mages get to start attacking the earliest in defense missions. It's almost ridiculous.
Is it just me or is the spellcaster build objectively superior to anything else? I mean, as far as I can see mages are identical to warriors and archers as far as damage potential and defense, and they have the added bonus that they get better at spellcasting just by attacking.
VolcanoTX, I more or less agreed with you until you got to that "Impossible" badge suggestion. I was like "Mhmm, mhmm, yeah, that is too easy, mhmm, that's a good idea, mhmm...ARE YOU FREAKING INSANE?!"
I sure wish I knew what to watch out for at the Training Ground. "But watch out:".......? Would also be nice if the number of potions I had wasn't randomly superimposed over other text.
REAL REVIEW: It's an OK top-down puzzle-y game if you take it in isolation, but I don't understand why you felt the need to completely change the genre of the series. Zeebarf's stuff is all about macabre/wacky point'n'click goodness. I'm also afraid this installment gets another point docked for lack of cat asshole. 3/5
Violently maiming humans...with bonus points for petty vandalism? Yaah, take that, sapling! I'm the non-renewable forest death slug! I bet you filthy humans thought you could have a neat and tidy firepit! WELL YOU'RE WRONG! I scuffed it up slightly! Enjoy getting ashes on your shoes next time you try to sit around THAT firepit! Suck it, humans!
An amazingly fun, challenging, and deep game. Though I'm not sure why everyone suddenly starts liking me just because I climbed back up the "good" way, or how my buddies back home seem to have this uncanny knowledge of what I did while I was away.
I feel like I should be enjoying this game, yet I'm finding it incredibly confusing. Some of the concepts really aren't explained well. For instance, it wasn't immediately obvious to me that dead adventurers never come back and are replaced by new level 0 adventurers. Sure, it makes sense when you think about it, and you can see it happen if you pay enough attention, but who wants to think or stretch their attention span when they're playing a game?
