Great game once you get into it. Confusing as hell at the beginning, and the blatant site-pimping for candystand.com means I will now never go there. But still, 5/5. Next version? More levels than 1!
GAH! In Free Play I've had my gun blown up by some random unstoppable event eight times in a row. No matter how much shield I buy, some explosion kicks some explosive tank at me at half the speed of light, and it's suddenly game over. I can't get to the next level, and I doubt I ever will. I'm done with it. HATE!
Pretty, fun, and it needs to be less complicated or with an interface that makes it easier. The developer should do some user testing, where he gives novices the game and then shuts up and watches them try to play.
Nicely put together, and engaging enough that I felt compelled to finish it. But it spreads the fun out over too many levels, becoming a chore rather than a challenge. 4/5 overall.
Now upgrading again to 5/5. The more I play it, the more I like it. Aside from Normal and Nightmare, it needs a small tutorial, so that the people who are not figuring this out get sucked in.
Upgrading to 4/5. Really charming game, lots of nice touches, like the killer robots saying "I AM YOUR FRIEND". Love that there are no points, that the levels are not named or numbered, that you can never permanently die. Would still love a way to save.
Would be 6 of 5, as the music, the graphics, and the play are pretty fab. But the inability to save is a problem, especially given the crash-inducing bugs.
Nice idea, but having the ball launch every time my mouse left the window was annoying. Spent more of my brainpower on view management than dealing with the courses.
