Really interesting concept. With some polish, I could see this going on itch.io and making a bit of dosh.
The game would be helped immensely by a single tutorial/help screen. A menu screen would be good as well. A results screen after each game ends. And a personal high score table would be good (I agree with the leaderboard hacking comment below).
"Q: Do you keep the florins after you die and restart the wave? A: Yes you do."
You're a bald-faced liar. I just retried the same wave three times and didn't keep a cent.
Another awesome game by John and Jimp. You guys knock it out of the park every single time. And the Kongpanion integration is awesome. I'm getting 2 million in coins with every launch. :3 5/5, fav'd.
It's not enough that you put 'hints' in for Act 4. It's literally that you cannot adequately prepare for the boss fight in that little amount of time. It completely kicked my ass on Normal, even when I knew it was coming, because you simply do NOT have enough time to prepare for it.
I reduced the number of enemies in Act 4 Normal mode (old save files may not be updated). But you can still fight the original number of invasion forces in Hard and Heroic mode, in case you want a challenge, lol.
Didn't see a bug report button, so I'll put it here. When I was in a Random Medium Complex, I wasn't able to pick up loot boxes that were positioned on an inclined terrain.
Third suggestion: It would really, REALLY be nice to know what and/or where the hitbox is. I seem to get hit from bullets all over the place, when it appears like they're going to miss.
Second suggestion: Dunno if you have this in the works or not, but how about having leveled loot? Getting a vulcan that does 4 damage when I'm shooting one that does almost 200 is kind of silly.
I like it. Despite the Pay to win stuff tacked on there, I've had a good time so far. My first suggestion: fine tune the gold/shop system. Maybe put a refresh timer on the shop rather than changing after every battle? Several times I was only a few gold shy of a weapon I really wanted, only to have it disappear when I went into a battle to get the funds required to buy it.
I made the music more quieter. It was louder than the standard value for the games. Thanks for paying attention. I hope that the volume level is comfortable now
Wow! Thanks! And for my first try at making music too!
