Hmm, level 13 it completely stopped registering the fact I had scored. I think this is because I briefly went offline but no idea why that's affected the game. An internet restore and reload didn't solve the problem. Bizarre. No doubt only my eccentric computer!
Not true to my word, I had another go, got to where there are 3 "bosses", two structures, and one big bug that attaches now and then to your screen. Every time it attached to the screen it took about 6 attempts to get the knife to appear on autoselect. Died completely unnecessarily. No rage quit.. just a calm sensible decision to never play this game again. Which is a shame, because the graphics and ideas behind it are wonderful
With that.. its not often I find a game flat out impossible. I've tried Red Area 2 4 times now, with and without auto-select. Easily getting killed. I'm using a trackpad so I don't expect everyone to have this problem, but I usually find I can at least compete and enjoy the game even so. This one.. not so much. With no avenue to improve my weapons beforehand.. I dont see the point of playing further.
Got to agree with Kasual's comprehensive comment. The auto-select makes things very difficult towards the later levels, but turning it off means you have to practice pressing 1 to re-equip your knife when you are not selecting it. I understand the point of auto-select, and it would be brilliant and make the game much more fun, but it just doesnt quite work as it is. It is a fun game though.
To be honest.. it isn't a game that needs grinding at all.. just sensible upgrades and strategy. Dying costs nothing really, so just get the treasure and speed upgrades and complete missions. Only ONLY go for the target ships. Other destruction is peripheral. That way you can get loads of missions completed for quick money. Job Done.
Hmm.. Whilst artisabang has been marked down, I think he's got a valid opinion. I dont find it so boring - I've got a couple of hours enjoyment from exploring dungeons. But I don't find it intriguing enough to continue to get the medium or hard bag, which feel miles and miles away, nor to learn about crafting. The interface is just a bit too clunky. But I'm glad that lots of people are enjoying it more than me.
Took me about 7 attempts of clearing every particle (thats not including the attempts where for one reason or another you can't get the shield particle to make the level possible). I couldn't work out why, but randomly near the end, my particle mass would dip inexplicably.
Yep, just to confirm. Endless lvl 6 is usually impossible to get past as there simply aren't enough particles to fill the metre. Unless there is some game mechanism I'm not understanding (as red particles dont expand its hard to see where else I'd lose mass)
Its a nice concept, but without a way of getting past those red particles, or something to even the playing field, the game becomes impossible very fast
I agree with poomonk9. It is laggy, or seems that way. Except its not a computer issue (I assume). The battles work very speedily. But changing menus, and evolving/feeding creatures takes an age. Becomes very frustrating.
