@Orange33 - the numbers also turn right if you have an incorrect combination. for 1 1 both "x1xx1" and "x1x1x" would turn white. It only tells you have a possibly correct combination. Still handy of course.
Very annoying that you aren't told your current score in survival mode - particularly when one of the achievements requires you to get 300,000 in one go (very very boring achievement..)
Does have annoying habit of telling you that you've completed 100% of a sector, only to turn it to 99% the next day. Lots of pointless rambling to do after that..
This is a great game, probably the best I've played in terms of execution out of the entrants (although, the games are so different, very hard to compare). I'd query whether you stuck to the theme of evolution - the ending strikes me as a bit tagged on. But, frankly, because the game is so good, I couldn't really give a damn!
tl;dr version: We decided that gameplay > theme, so we ditched most of the original idea that had the theme properly incorporated.
Thanks for playing!
As others have said, its not really much of a game as it stands, but for 48 hours this is very impressive, and shows the concept. You could make this into a riveting and innovative puzzle game.
Nice wording!
Yeah I'd love to see where this could go. I'd probably have to rewrite the entire engine though so it's more formal and easier to improve.
When you get the rocket launcher (or any better weapon) you get a lot less money per kill. A good way of compensating for this is to weaken the bosses until they are under 10% then finish them off with a beretta. That way you get the money with minimum effort.
There's actually a hell of a lot wrong with this game. Not being able to see how much health other units have is particularly annoying, especially if they are spamming healing (for no discernible reason). No quit button, no retreat button (even if there is a heavy penalty). Unless I'm mistaken (likely) no mute button. Pointless starting army, and as everyone says, no ability to stock up your army easily.. you can't shoot in the direction you want to (if for example you have a bowman hero and want to target their bowmen first). Frustrating, time-consuming, and sadly not fun, despite a great original idea.
Lovely game, but it would have been nice to have a bit more warning that the final run will take so long. Allow a lot of time for breaking through that final gate..
Hmm.. Not sure what happened, but after playing the game until level 16, it has crashed, and now when trying to reload the game, I get a little message telling me it only runs on flash player 10 (I have 11). Bit odd. And annoying.
Just under the 3 day mark on the first attempt. The game is VERY playable, which is fantastic, but agree a few tweaks would make it even better. Certainly the difficulty setting (imo) should be made harder. I never once felt like my health was threatened (using a touchpad, always harder), and the upgrade system made it too easy. Just max your science, then a bit of reload, max your money. Then the rest is just for leisure.
