Rips off elements from Kingdom Rush and Cursed Treasure, adds very little to them, and puts out a game with one of the worst difficulty ramps I've played in TDs. Well, I can keep my hopes up for the new Gemcraft, at least.
If only the troops gained XP to level up as you used them more, and generals had more customization for weapons/mounts/skills. I could probably give this a 5 if there were some RPG elements tied in, otherwise it just stays fairly random.
Definitely some good starting ideas. To add to others' comments, you should really add some more stats to upgrade, maybe like piercing shot chance, ball splash damage, ball speed. Adding some abilities would be nice too, maybe fireballs, lightning bolts that jump block targets for tough-to-hit ones, and of course accompanying mana and magic strength stats to upgrade. Heck, you could add an equipment system from random drops or have blocks drop crafting materials to make new paddles and paddles add-ons/upgrades. Maybe give blocks elements that work with the spells system, and make bosses more challenging. So many ways to expand a game like this, but it was fun to play through in its current iteration.
Forget any advice to try the oncoming lane. Just go forward, try to chain a few x2 jumps together, and burn up your nitro to get the time bonuses. Very, very easy.
As others have said, very grindy. Finally had the right mix of luck and gear to win with the Bloody Enforcer weapon, Black Rabbit's Foot and Heavy Poo Stamp of Fortune (crafted) trinkets, and team level 22. Now to go beat the challenges, which may require some more grinding...
So far, seems like an intriguing game. It's nice to not have to grind incessantly to make progress. Only thing I've noticed so far for features is that it'd be nice to have a "back" button in certain areas. For example, when in the debate screen of a bill, if you go to analyze a different player's stats, there is no quick way to close the screen and get back to the bill. You have to go back to the bills list and find the correct bill again. Repeat multiple times if you want to look at multiple player's stats.
Thanks for the feedback and support! Hitting back in your browser should send you back a page in the game. I've made sure that the game is capable of handling this properly. Some browsers won't really do this by default with how the game is framed within Kongregate, but you should be able to right click on the game and find some sort of "this frame->back" option. Let me know if you have any problems with this feature!
I would not have rated this game as highly, but using the map at Jayisgames (http://images.jayisgames.com/william-sly/Map.png) helped tremendously. Open that bad-boy up in Paint and mark every mushroom/key/switch/stone already hit. With that map to follow and mark down on, this game was a lot of fun.
Dear anyone who thinks this is a ripoff of Burrito Bison - the whole genre is a lineage of ripoffs. If it's fun, play it, if not, rate it 1 and move on, but learn a little more about these games before rating as a ripoff of a ripoff.
Fun game and worthy follow-up. The new modes are appreciated, and bring up my only complaint. Aesthetically, I found it hard to discern which levels I had stars on or not based on the "world map scoreboard". Many, many upgrades that go unused, but better to have more choices than not enough.
Even with the walkthrough, 29 is just silly. As Quixzambundu said, the (B) slides out every time. I guess I'll just keep trying it in hopes that it stays in place one of these times. Such a small margin of error really dampens the experience of this game and shows a lack of QA testing.
Yep, 23 perfects and can't even finish the last one for the blue folks. A game that no matter how hard I've tried to like, comes up far short of its potential. I look forward to a sequel that hopefully expands on this concept and does it a lot more effectively.
A very clunky interface, boring and slow battles, far too much information all at once. I guess this is to be expected of undefined, as every game I've ever played by this developer reeks of being unpolished. Instead of releasing so many mediocre games, perhaps more time should be spent to release a great one. Or maybe it's just me.
@gerhardLemmer, I think your notion that the medium badge is harder is wildly refuted by most of the top posts pertaining (very rightfully, I might add) to challenge 6. If you can beat normal mode, all you have to do is a few challenges, maybe play through once or twice to accumulate kills, and you're set.
I don't know why folks downvoted Nyan_cat__'s comment, as using that second glitch got me to a stage where I could actually win without having to play this stupid game. Hurray for the badge!
