Interesting and simultaneously frustrating. It seems like a gimmicky attempt at a basic physics puzzle game that could be more easily handled with a mouse. I was hoping for more typing and less guessing at what word you need to type at a specific moment.
200? No thanks. I wish I could + bluemoose19's comment more than once, the badge really isn't even fun to get. Game is pretty mediocre for a platformer on here, and I'm a little surprised it's rated so highly. 2/5
How has this game been rated so highly, let alone gotten badges? You have pretty much no control of the game! If the AI is against you, you lose. Speed and health boosts can only go so far, and a limited number of bombs means a limited amount of control. 1/5
In addition to flaws discovered and pointed out among the top comments, I'd like to add a couple. There is no explanation of what specifically skills do, how much they cost, etc. when buying new equipment. I also think it's a little stupid how they're laid out - as you go up in tier, you'd expect that for the most part gear is a net gain. The stats are wildly random though. The level difficulty varies wildly with some being really easy followed by a very challenging one. It'd also be nice if building damage near edges was more consistent, and if Mecha heroes couldn't go off screen and continue to shoot you. Finally, the loading screens add a nice flavor at first but because you have to navigate through multiple menus to buy, upgrade, choose a level, return to map, etc., they get irritatingly long. Otherwise a game that's overall pretty polished and which could be great.
As it stands now, this game is surprisingly irritating to play. Moving backwards at such a slow pace compared to forward makes you easy zombie fodder. Also, the difference in weapons seems pretty minimal with only one or two of them being any use. Reloading times being so short makes it pointless to even bring two weapons. The vehicles are fun but ultimately just make the levels take longer. As others have said, just doesn't feel like it plays very smoothly.
This game reminds me heavily of the board games Doom and Descent, with a party of adventurers getting slightly upgraded spells and skills as they go deeper into dungeons. As other comments have said, this game could benefit from a significant number of improvements. A more diverse skill set would be a good start. True line of sight and limited range on spells would be another - otherwise this is too easy. Items and inventories may be something to consider for making more diverse heroes. Heck, having four basic hero classes that you choose to upgrade certain ways, so if you wanted 4 warriors or 2 warriors and 2 mages or whatever - more customization. More diverse monsters, bosses, just expanded dungeons in general. Stat points such as strength and vitality to help build your characters other than just a skill like 'flat 50% hp bonus'. Add a number of these to give this game some depth and it (or chapter 2) will be fantastic.
I'm also not having the shooting opening a new page issue. I am having an issue with this seeming like a pretty lame version of Heavy Weapons, with no ship customizations, and enemies whose AI consists of 'shoot randomly and suicide ram into player'. Good graphics and sound with a lot of potential - I'm a bit surprised this has badges though. 3/5
What the fudge? I can type 130+ WPM on a straight test so this game should be a breeze. The buggy boss fights ruin this game. So much potential here totally wasted. 1/5
I would love to give this game a higher rating if not for two fatal flaws. Multiplayer, as many others have said, when an opponent quits, it NEEDS to count as a loss, or it is pointless to play. Or at very least, a win for the player who stuck it out. The cards 'kill x' are stupid and slow the game down unnecessarily. It just feels like a cheap tactic that the AI loves to use as often as possible. Drags matches out far too long and sucks the fun out. 2/5
The game tries so hard to be epic but is just a standard platformer. The hard badge seems extremely annoying but perhaps someday I'll suffer through repeated time runs and memorization of jumps to earn it. Until then, just another platformer to be forgotten about with very little replay value, and only three levels. 2/5
Randomly searching for an end boss and hitting two ends of the world is just silly. I'm bored and not getting this badge today I guess. The sequel was far better, so I'm pretty spoiled and find the original to be pretty lame now. 2/5
This is just stupid - I get going nice and fast and up to a 40x multiplier, then I jump over a gate as the tips suggest, and because I clip it a little, it drops me to 0x. One hard badge I don't think I'm going to struggle to get, it's just irritating and the game doesn't offer any replayability to stay fun beyond the first 5 minutes. 2/5
I still contend that this is one of the worst, most overrated games to exist on any flash gaming site ever. Randomly decided survival criterion like which weapons you get, how many survivors you get, and survivors you find dying - it just isn't fun to depend on the RNG for survival. Not to mention the shooting system is pretty lame, your aim takes very little effect compared to your vertical standing location. It just is not a fun game to play, not to mention an overdone theme. 1/5
Unfortunately, I'd love to give this game a higher rating but I can't do it in good mind. The difficulty ramping is probably the farthest out of tune I've ever seen in a game that otherwise would be well polished. If this is 'normal' difficulty, I wouldn't want to even attempt hard difficulty. I've read plenty of the strategy comments on here, experimented with different setups, but ultimately this game feels like you are supposed to lose. This simply loses all of its fun after a short span of time and frustration. 1/5
Wow, what a terrible game. How did this ever get badges? You get one attack, and one useless little kick. Blocking is pretty useless, and even just the first boss's agility is about 5 times that of what yours is. He can backflip, run faster than you, and swing faster. How useless. 1/5
That's got to be brutal as a developer. You can try something different and have half the highest voted comments be 'circle sucks!', or you can copy something already done and then probably get one or two high voted saying 'nice ripoff, lame idea'. I'm not a big fan of the game but can appreciate the dilemma.
I'm one of the outcasts of opinion on this one apparently. I thought the game was pretty pointless, with a story far from anything 'artsy' or even interesting. The gameplay was dull, and finding randomly placed switches for no particular reason in a dark area where you can hardly see your character is just frustrating. I will take this 15 point badge and never play or mention this game again. 1/5
Don't bother putting bonus levels in just to advertise your own site. The game was a lot of fun but then it's a kick in the face like 'HA! You played it at Kong, now come play through the whole game again at our site instead just to get an extra level or two!'. Other than that, good game. 4/5
