Fun, frustration, and more fun. Finally feels like a worthy game got badges instead of these MMOs. Once I realized that you can ignore enemies and they'll stack up for big combos, the medium badge felt a lot easier. Still, with no upgrades, achievements, etc., there isn't much to do after you've gotten the badges. 4/5
I can truly appreciate all the work that went into this game - it has the quality of a console game by a major studio. The artwork, music, etc., is all terrific. However, it just lacks in fun for me. I don't like mashing 'S' over and over and over without leveling up, or new gear, or something interesting other than 'kill stuff, find orbs'. It's too basic and it seems more effort may have gone into the polish of the game rather than details. Many people must like the simplicity but I feel no compelling reasons to play beyond the first act. 3/5
Since I can't + people's comments more than once - please stop giving MMOs badges! Obviously when the highest comments are all about how MMOs should not get badges, you're doing it wrong. Maybe it's time to move over to Newgrounds?...
The primary problem I have with this game is it tries to punish you. Unlike similar games that this rips off like Hedgehog Launch, there are obstacles - and a lot of them. Birds, bad fireflies, etc. When you're moving faster with further upgrades, these become increasingly difficult to avoid, making your upgrades actually less useful as you increase them further. Maybe instead of birds there should be fast moving, difficult to catch, but beneficial fireflies - like a quick and rare version of the Yellow ones. Otherwise this game just starts to feel like a chore. 3/5
Also similar to Canabalt, lack of a fun game. Running full speed and being invincible combined with jumps that either you jump too far for or not far enough just isn't fun. Nice try with achievements but adding those on a game that is so uninteresting won't give it life. There isn't anything redeeming about this, really just a cheap Canabalt ripoff and I didn't even like that game. 1/5
Agreed with Deepfriedsushi - a random click fest where you go one by one figuring out new combinations but for what? This is like an upgrade system that would be behind a good RPG or TD, not a stand-alone game. How this has a 4.35 rating is beyond me. 2/5
Indeed the 'story' was pretty pointless. All these 'artsy' folks with the best rated comments really don't know what a deep, thoughtful, provoking story is as this certainly is not. Pasted on top is a boring platformer with very mediocre controls and a 15 point badge that should only be worth 5 as this game takes no more than 5 minutes to beat. What a waste. 1/5
Again, screw this stupid Evony ripoff. It wants your money for terrible, tired, overdone gameplay. It does not provide anything of interest and doesn't have high enough of a rating to warrant receiving badges. I understand Kong needs to survive but promotions like the Rings/White Castle are much more natural. It offers us something and brings in some ad revenue. You can do better than this Kong, I know you can. For the game - you still suck. 1/5
Here are a few of the fatal flaws of this game. 1) Random is not random. Do the 'Go Searching' action for 1 AP. Note the result. Refresh the page, load the game, and try it again. Note the same result. Don't do it for a round. Try searching again. Same exact thing. 2) Enemies are too random. Wave too hard? Refresh the page and try again. The enemy layout is different every time meaning you will get randomly screwed at random intervals of time. 3) Not enough gun upgrades. Leveling up means nothing if there aren't any better guns available. MODs are very underimplemented and could have been a much better idea if they were done right. 4) Medals don't seem to function as intended. Maybe it's due to my reloading but my Round 14 save hasn't gotten the Dinner party medal yet, despite taking 12 parties (2 of the 14 were used for Title upgrade instead). 5) This is disappointing because this game has always wanted to be good but never has been.
What the heck? The enemies have no 'path' that you can see. You can't block them, they just walk through towers. No info is given on upcoming waves, very little info is given on towers. Make the level actually work and function with a path that works alongside the graphics and this may be worthwhile. 1/5
Indeed, menus are difficult to read and this really doesn't do anything new or different from games like Frantic. Also, a mute button would be a win. 2/5
Interesting ideas but the 'powerups' aren't very powerful. Can't get past level 10, they spawn faster than my light beam shotgun can mow them down. Just not a very good balance between levels. The 'GUI' is pretty awful and the 'tutorial' isn't very helpful beyond the text instructions here on Kong. 3/5
Until a hotkey is added to restart a level so you can make smaller adjustments with mouse, I've found this to be unplayable. It's just too touchy and having to move your mouse to click restart, then try to figure out where to aim and with how much strength again is just no fun.
Quite honestly: pointless game with stupid critique of Kong users. If you put your game out, expect criticism. Be thankful people are even playing your creation via the wonder of the internet. Don't be offended when we don't like it and tell you why. 1/5
This is perhaps the least-fitting music I've ever heard for a game. It's a platformer with this intense music that just seems off. Especially love the ripped coin jingle from SMW. There's no motivation to keep playing other than a high score which doesn't hold my attention for more than 5 minutes. Good start but could use some work as others have said. 2/5
It seems counter-intuitive that the further you 'level up', the weaker you get (your health drains much faster). Leveling up only equals points. It'd be nice if there were some upgrade systems and enemies that became involved. There is no motivation to get stars as points mean nothing. In its current state, I would not play this game more than once or twice. 2/5
