I would have loved for the front page image of the game to have the tag "Multiplayer" and not "Strategy" and "Defense." That's dishonest there. Got my hopes up for a new strategy game, and all there is is this multiplayer crap.
Kinda sucks how you never ever need to use the 4th or 5th hero. Getting rid of Josh takes away your damage, Erica can take shots like a champ and has the best super power AND passive, and Selena is important for healing and resurrection. Glenn is good for homing, but Selena already covers that and by the time you unlock Ray, he's far too weak to do much of anything.
Not as difficult for me as people claimed. I love the idea that every game you get different companions, so you have to use different strategies. No complaints here. Not too heavily based on luck once you learn that matching gems encourages tokens of the same color and that you can manufacture any combo you'd like to. It may be worth stressing that you can use things from chests though, as that took me awhile to realize.
so if you get more than 999 petals in a run, it just shows 999+. also, on the "this run": it says 100 and the 5 is beneath the number, where it should just be 1005.
So here's a bug you may want to look into. I was exiting a level with the escape button...and when I came back, I was automatically completing every level I entered until I refreshed. So now I have every level finished, because why not milk it a little ya know? But no coins on the a-x levels. Also, is there no a-0? When I pressed escape that one time, I kind of hit a few other buttons around it, so that may have had something to do with it.
While the game is very good, the mission design is cripplingly poor. First off, they should either all be available at once (minus story missions,) or award retroactively. Second, there is a terrible exchange between the 10000 money mission, the increasing death penalty, and the number of seemingly random, unavailable deaths. Key card just dropped after hitting that button? Let's run towar-NOPE, THE FLOOR OPENS UP AND A GIANT ZOMBIE RISES UP. Shit like that. It's easy to go from 9000 money to less than 5000.
The first half was excellent, but the second half had you doing a lot of illogical things, like (spoiler) smashing your steel rod with a buddha statue. There was nothing to indicate why you should do this. The codes at the end also made little sense.
I'm sorry, but that was just awful. First, the trick with the two stairs which is zero parts logic and all blind luck the first time, and then the twist ending with no big final fight? Then the little monologue where you ask for money for a sequel? Give us an ending like that and you can be sure you won't be seeing a donation.
Dear developers (Juicy isn't the only violator of this), the three objective system is not a fun gameplay device. Please stop using it. Intentional death is not fun. Completing objectives that would have been complete long ago if it were available is not fun. It takes away from the game as a whole.
Sorry there, still getting the hang of Tags. I'll look into it.
