Much harder than the last one; I like it. I don't like how the effects don't stack or replace each other, in fact I find this intensely irritating. If I continually re-poison an enemy, it ought to at least start over the poison timer.
Oh well, it's not game breaking (except for the horrid "Path to Shoreview" level) so it's still a 4/5.
This is barely a game.
The thing that really makes or breaks a game is interactivity - you have to feel in control, at least of a part of the game. And here, you don't. The AI is so bad it hurts and there's no way to just manually control your robots. There are a billion bettermade games in this genre, just play one of them and skip this, badges be damned.
Just beat this on Armorgames (as in yesterday) and it pains me to play it again.
it pains me MORE to see that you can't even purchase certain skills from this hosting. Cute.
KONG: In the future, don't put crippled games as badge games.
1/5 in protest for an otherwise good game
Too much luck, not enough skill, needs a reset button, etc., etc.
This is just one those cat catapult / turkey launcher / rick roller / nanaca crash games with a few tweaks. The tweaks are pleasant enough but the old frustrations / lack of fun are there.
3/5
It's an OK game, but nothing new or special. Sorry.
Also, I got black screened on the final boss, so uh ... it's not fixed.
To ksmulz: Lots of people dislike games because they don't find them FUN. Not because they suck at them. get your head out of your ass. Same to the mindless bashers.
Elite: What are you talking about? Put one hand on the keyboard, one hand on the mouse. Unless you are missing a hand, it's a pretty natural (and pretty common) control scheme.
I know it's hard to account for everybody's musical taste, but this game loses a lot of fun value (for me at least) when I don't enjoy any of the song choices. Good engine, less buggy than before, but still, no fun for me.
The first Thing-Thing was pretty great for its time, but this concept has been done to death now, and it hasn't significantly improved since then. The grind was acceptable then, but we expect more from games now.
Try having objectives.
A little dated, sure, but still pretty fun. And to everyone: when you learn to manage the recoil, you'll understand why it's a good gameplay mechanic. It puts a functional limit on rate of fire without making it too ridiculous (no, it really takes this gun a full second to move the chamber! really!).
Only reason it gets downvoted a little is that the machine guns (except the special one) are incredibly useless. The recoil DESTROYS them, as they can't be used as bursting weapons.
OK, So I admit the situation is pretty bizarre. But, I will comment that it makes a fun game. And people who are unable to understand why you would have multiple cannons: why? Machine for most enemies, switch to missiles or something for high defense enemies. What's so hard?
4/5 (would be 5, except flash should be free, that's what ads are for)
A copy of Luminara? No ... just another game in the same genre. By that logic there have only been about 10 original games made, and everything else is just copies.
Regardless it is a LOT harder than Luminara (which is to say it is a medium difficulty) but the slowness is annoying. I'd like to be able to move a bit faster without having to spend every point on movement. Slow games are boring games.
4/5
Serious flaw of not being able to sell mages, or at least tell them to quit firing for a while. How should I know there will be a poison absorbing enemy later???
