The difference between a 5/5 and a 2/5 is the keyboard controls. Thank you for putting keyboard controls in an age where most similar games get ruined by mouse controls.
Would be decent were it not for the game breaking bug that keeps you from placing new units when returning to a saved game. Aside from that it bugs me a bit that only two or three of the skill upgrades are ever useful. Its not really that polished, no hotkey to pause, more useless units than usual, little mob diversity. Still its a cute idea and I like the town quests.
If you want a pretty good guide on the strategy scroll down to joemama's comment.
Innovative take on a genre that I enjoy. My only complaint is that the music is near unbearable. Even for a flash game the music is especially bad. Other than that a well polished and enjoyable game.
Has anyone found a good strategy for survival mode that doesn't require a ton of micro? So far I've just been building a wall of turrets in front of a wall of mortars and pumping in as much energy as I can. Then around 300 or so once the guns get depleted faster than they can be refilled I cover the area with air strikes and swap them out with fresh guns from the back. With as many extra drones as possible so I can destroy them afterwards rather than waste energy on reloading. It just seems like there has to be a better way.
I wasn't expecting much. Maybe another td clone with retro graphics. I was shocked. This game greatly surpassed my expectations in every possible way. What an amazing and innovative game.
Normally I hate generic hard platformers with retro graphics. The genre usually relies on artificial difficulty and annoying controls, at a time when flash platformers could be at least at the level of megaman 2. That being said this new twist as actually really enjoyable, and I liked the things that could be accomplished with these innovative controls.
It seems like a cumbersome interface, maybe it is designed for tablets. but I've never been a big fan of this pick things up defense genre so what do I know.
Hey look another game with anthropomorphized round things that you have to place or move in a certain way to solve problems with its physics engine. 1/5
Quoted for truth:
"I rarely ever comment on a game. I don't find it worth my time. However, for this game, I'll make an exception. Why? Because I cannot stand anti-piracy software that gimps the game, and the users. This is a free flash game. There is absolutely no need for anti-piracy software in it. All you are doing is hindering the legitimate players, while the pirates have already cracked your terrible security. 1/5"
Copy this if you agree.
This game has truly great potential. They really should have waited a couple months for the release and added features and fixed bugs. A better control system, at least with less clicking. A vote kick, and a chat window. Still it has so much potential I hope they improve it.
