Awell, I made 60k in just a min lol. I just found out I could jump forward on roofs by pressing UP arrow. Made it very easy to get combo and get passed blockades. Pretty nice concept but gets pretty monotous. Also wish the game was a bit up to date with graphics and/or at least ability to scale/zoom the window. I know it's from 2010, but still. Pretty OK game but I really only played it for Badge of the day. 3/5
You have to be kidding me.... I just got over 60000 points, then flash or something crashed... WTF! Gotta be joking. Reloaded and I lost my checkpoints, so now I gotta start over, just to get the Badge of the day bonus.... and I got like 20 mins to do it..... FFS
Very cool concept, but the gameplay is very fiddly. Not getting hit and hitting etc. is just a time consumer, gotta align perfect in pixels with tiny steps. Usually you move to far and get hit as well. Unless you "kite"/hit-n-run, it's not much skill based, which at least puts me off. It just takes time and patience. Also hit-boxes aren't perfect. But very nice concept, I like fractals. 3/5
OK game. Pretty unique concept but the way it works it's a lot of trial and error. Finished the game in 10-15 min or so, so it never becomes that frustrating. Not sure if it really has any replayability or any lasting impression. I mostly felt like I wanted to rush through it, and I guess I did. But well made and cool concept, so it's worth to play through.
There can be a little trial and error if you don't spot the connections right away. Sometimes just jumping up and down can offer a lot of clues. I'm glad you enjoyed the concept, at least.
Thanks to those who answered my question about the PCs but some things I still wonder about since I'm so low on PCs right now. I got 12 now, enough for a new item expedition pack, but the mystery pack costs 15 and apparently can give 1000 PCs? And from what I understand from the description it's highest probability to get tier 1 top left, which is 1000 PCs? Have I gotten this wrong somehow, should I spend the PCs on the New Item pack?
Or are PCs not as rare as they first seem?
I would appreciate some starter tips, because I don't want to have to start over when much later figuring out I did something really bad.
Lost my save apparently.... Nice update. I did complete it before though and was on my 2nd playthrough. Not much replayability anyway really. Monsters scaled pretty much while magic damage didn't. Also ran into some bugs like changing stance not responding and getting locked in white magic after continuing without using heal when game told me to, tried using heal after but no unlock of the other attacks. It was fixed after dying though. Good graphics but too slow progress and no char upgrades. Also not much explanation of the weapons "abilities". I never had my weapon or armor disabled by monsters during my run. Also it becomes a bit grindy if you want the weapons. Later levels, around 20+ also require way too much exp. And there's quite a bit of lag, even if I lower the quality, and I got a pretty good comp, so it's not on my end. 3/5.
Bug: After using heal, all I could use afterwards was White Magic (heal)... the attack buttons are not clickable any more. Was at the first "boss" (The Colosseum).
A game from 2012 that doesn't support higher resolutions, i.e. scales with window when zooming, that brings the score down a bit for sure. The music parts are pretty good but the hidden object parts aren't fun and when medium badge is 18 songs, it kind of puts me off finding them myself. Rather look up a guide if there is one. 3/5
As many have said, it needs fast-forward, save and pause etc. Newer versions of the game has this but really, a 3rd version of this and not those features is pretty poor to say the least. Guess the developer doesn't listen to the players at all. Even since first version people asked for things like fast-forward. And start button right below sell button is kind of proof that the developer didn't play his own game, only put it out there. Otherwise very well made, but pretty much exactly like the previous versions.
Nice story and cool concept but freezes/bugs and some frustration are also there. Pretty good length of the game though so the frustration doesn't build up to extreme levels, so 4/5.
Becomes quite boring quickly. The concept is pretty ok but identifying the different zombie-kinds becomes a chore, luckily the developer didn't make noticeable penalties for shooting the wrong kind of zombies. I don't feel like playing any more after getting 50+ %. 3/5
Just finished it... Well made game but the controls are pretty fiddly and sometimes when energy balls bounce back and forth and miss me, it suddenly hits me, so the hit box isn't very accurate. Also you seem to glide around like the floor was ice or something sometimes. And there are several shortcuts to cut the levels in half or so, not sure if they are intentional or not. Sometimes you can make things go through walls as well using boxes and turrets pressed together in a corner or something. The frustration on some of the levels are pretty annoying as well, it's on the edge of being too long, but at least the achievement for completing lvl 4 is "hard" so I guess it's appropriate. The concept is what makes this a good game, not level design, so a weak 4/5 from me.
The flippers must be the worst implementation I ever seen, they are so useless it's frustrating. Can't get the cat anywhere using them, just up and down, not to the other side where I need it.
There's way too much randomness in the game. Very good concept overall but bad execution. I restarted MANY times now and usually Madagascar is the main problem. Even starting there, you have Cuba, Japan and the Australia-area. I tried following the guides, but really it's just random and luck, even when doing so. The game is really old now, so I bet no updates are made, but for any sequel it would be more fun if you felt more like a virus designer and less a slave under random circumstances. It's mostly watch and do nothing. And if a country closes their stuff, it's restart. Getting wrong start country also means restart. Also there's so much illogic in the travelling between countries; should be a lot more travelling and boats should be more efficient in their paths, not move back and forth in the sea with no real direction. Too many flaws but good concept, 3/5.
Nice art and such, but some levels are too dark and some things seems to not be working. And as I said in previous post, screen size is fixed so everything is VERY small on bigger monitor/resolutions. 3/5 because of lack of essential features and common sense.
Screen size is fixed, why? It should scale with the kongregate frame... Zooming in doesn't make a difference, the window size is so small it's difficult to see what's going on. I know many other older games have this problem as well, but this is from oct 2011, so just wow... wtf? Needs to be fixed, so the game can be played on bigger monitors as well.
Maybe I wasn't recruiting the right guys, but I found myself getting completely owned in the first season. I had 2 swordsmen at start and even at battle 2 I was starting to lose because of archers. Later I went for 1 knight + 1 priest + 1 mage + 1 archer, and I plowed through everything. Only thing I lost was the last territory with the 4 horse knights, but with some level ups I got that too, and king was easy at end.
The experience at first where I couldn't do anything and got owned by everything made me negatively leaned towards the game, so it won't get more than 4/5, but it almost deserves a 3, so it's a weak 4. The concept is otherwise pretty fun, but melee is way to weak vs overpowered ranged at start. Archers shoot too fast, in beginning, rendering melee useless, except as a tank later. The different chars available allow for many combinations, but it's obvious only a few combinations actually work, unless you grind and upgrade them way too much.
There can be a little trial and error if you don't spot the connections right away. Sometimes just jumping up and down can offer a lot of clues. I'm glad you enjoyed the concept, at least.
