when, *when* will people finally learn that the limited-lives systems are a leftover of arcade days, where if you run out, you have to pay money ot get more... arcades are gone, so let it die already!
just... wow. the sinking-your-own-ship mechanic adds tons of annoyance rather than any difficulty, the aiming is somewhat inexact, which is a real $#%* when you need to hit something at the *exact* angle and speed to finish some of the puzzles (don't believe me? hold the mouse in a given position and fire a few times - the projectiles all land slightly differently!), the nearly-undying pirates are a pain (i realize that this is to make the intended solution the only right one, but still... ew), the not-showing-of-par before level ends is just silly (but then again it doesn't affect anything), etc, etc. i haven't been this annoyed with a game since... hard to find a comparison, even!
maybe i'm missing something, but how exactly *do* you prevent damage to actually get the top awards for each mission? i can dodge coal-bullets well enough, but anything bigger will hit me regardless.
even without a timer, controls lock up and the character you're trying to move somewhere runs off a ledge or stays still while a kill-bot gets him... annoying :(
suffering from *massive* controller lag :( especially on the shorter-timed levels, i can easily spend 15 seconds out of every 30 running in a given direction waiting for the controls tore-activate :( (somewhat slow machine, running FF 4.0 and flash player 10.3)
oh god... when making such games, make sure to strip out all punctuation and spacing from the answer before checking it for correctness, and accept all the synonyms you can think of. overboard is one word, by the way.
how exactly are results calculated? e.g. just drove opponent suicidal, end result: 18 life remaining + 0 perfect life + 8 sanity remaining + 30 damage done + 6 highest attack + 4 attacks, -25 damage taken - 0 insane = 41, but score is 37?

hint: when you get to the Palace, make sure you have an automatic shotgun and the loot-drop upgrade. find the Undying Ghost. stand by the door, aim at where the head is, and hold down the mouse button. when your gun runs out of ammo and starts reloading, collect all the gold, loot, and health packs that drop (usually healing you to full), get back in position, rince, repeat. when you get to 25,000 or so gold and a stack of gems, or when you just run out of ammo, jog back to the merchant all the way on the left, buy the best weapon (minigun offspring) and bucketfuls of ammo for it, and you're ready to take on *anything*.

screen is *always* centered on your character. consider allowing some wiggle room (so screen only moves if you move out of a small square in the middle), so it doesn't abruptly jar every time you hit an obstacle
Zelda had the right approach to random monster spawns - they happen all the time *as long as you're not on the road*. actually allows you to move around without being constantly interrupted.
needs: low quality mode or something - eats CPU like mad (combat is the only non-CPU-killing mode so far). really fast turn-based combat, rather than an ultra-slow real time one. monster HP bars. a control scheme that doesn't require you to hold down a mouse button - it really does start to hurt after a while.
"hairline cracks" on destructible walls are invisible at high resolution and/or low quality (have to set quality to high and zoom in to be able to see them at all on 1280x1024 on a 22" screen)
having limited, poorly targetted TNT to get at "secrets" is incredibly annoying - i tried to get to the first gem, used up my 2 TNTs incorrectly, and that's it.
hate how all the little side quests unlock characters, and only one or two zones at a time allow you to unlock more zones... there are a few that really give me trouble, and i can't just skip them and move on
