The controls are outrageously awful. The enemies fly through walls, but your fire doesn't? Hmmm...The elephant is on the ledge, but he cannot jump? The delay or "slide" of the character when moving side to side is nearly unmanageable. Some interesting things, though. Like the map that indicates where you go when going through doors. 2/5 generously.
There's no path to get better, RPGPlayer42. I've played and played and spent the time and I'm not getting any better. I have >50 worthless characters who are constantly getting "souls", but it's worthless because I never have use for them. I win level 22 90% of the time. I win level 21 15% of the time. There's no grinding to improve your character. This is a game built by developers who are 1 or 2 years in of a 5-year plan on how to build a good game.
Tonight, after a month of playing, I've played 13 times and lost 11 times. And I will be back again tomorrow and I will continue to post honestly negative comments until I get my medium badge.
What is most unacceptable is that the entire board shifts in 1 move. I have 11 guys, he has none and I've taken 22 of his energy. At the end of his next turn he has 6, I have 0 and he's taken 50 of my energy. (this happens 1/3 to 1/2 of the games I play) How could you possibly design a game like that and think you've done a good job?
The 9 people who pay to win are also helping these developers pay for a false rating. Irrespective of it being difficult to advance, it's really a poorly developed game. It's not enjoyable to grind through. It's poorly designed from a memory leak perspective (my fan explodes on my Mac when this game starts). And, generally, it's extremely poorly designed from a strategic perspective. If any game is a 1, this is it. Exactly the same rating that a piece of junk game a developer through together in under an hour - neither is worthy of an extra star.
You know that feeling after you've worked so hard for something and you finally achieve it? That sense of accomplishment? This game is such garbage that you don't even get that. No satisfaction that it's over. Just pure irritation and disappointment that someone spent 99% of their money on graphics and 1% on gameplay.
Was the developer's intent to IRRITATE and FRUSTRATE me in to spending money? Because I just want my badge and would rather tell the entire world how AWFUL this game is before I give it a penny. The strategy is incoherent, the idea that 9 or 10 characters die in one card - asinine, the slowness at which the computer auto-plays - infuriating, the advantage gained from playing first - absurd and the total mismatch between player rankings is incoherent. The entire thing needs to be re-considered. In its current incarnation, a 1/5 is generous.
the level of difficulty throughout the entire game compared to the last guy is like night and day. Not a bad game, made me click, idiotically, with zero skill for an hour. But, for the fact that you didn't "train" me how to win, I've given it a 2. Just not sure the logic there.
The only thing I didn't feel like made a ton of sense was the **SPOILER** flower orb. Thought it was a bit of a stretch. Otherwise, fun, interesting and entertaining.
Really poorly designed. What's a float, if a dibble that jumps in the water is a float without it? It just makes him sacrifice himself? Brutal. The fact that you can't look at the level to solve it, brutal. The fact that you are sometimes racing against the next dibble to happy-click to place something. Brutal. How do you copy a game and not solve these major issues?
The developer's idea of "very high damage" is not the same as mine. Having rockets that home, across the entire screen at 80% of efficacy compared to 20% better damage, but doesn't hit more than 40% of the screen and doesn't home, seems like a step backwards. Generally, not at all impressed. Far too grindy and for that you get a minimal step up in performance.
The scoring seems way off. I died on a level that previously I got 97,000 on. I got about 80% through, killing approximately the same amount of enemies and got 7,000. Pretty asinine. Generally, the upgrades are not really that significantly improved and it's not a very "skillful" game, but rather a grind to power up and then avoid bullets while the homing bullets do damage. The metaphor for upgrading and purchasing is sub-par. High marks for shorter levels. 3/5
10 Days on zombie level. One of the easier MEDIUM badges on Kongregate. And, yes, as of July 7th, 10:42 PM Pacific, the badge is still not auto-awarding after getting the accomplishment.
This is one of the worst video games I've ever played. Unresponsive controls - check. Horrific graphics - check. Mindless - check. Random and arbitrary - check. Overtly Repetitive - check. 1/5 and bailing on BOTD.
