Just got 618 seconds. If you're having trouble getting the Hard badge: Look at your computer clock when you start the game. That will be your timer. You'll need to survive 10 minutes, but make it 11 just to be sure. Shoot Shield and Rocket pickups, but avoid Turret pickups. When the screen starts shaking and the extra-large rock comes along, keep it directly above your base for as long as you can. No extra rocks will spawn while the large rock is on screen, which means keeping the large rock on the screen will be the easiest way by far to last ten minutes. The turret pickups will push the large rock to the side, making it harder to keep it on screen, but as long as you don't have any of those it should be fairly easy to control. And if you lose the large rock, just wait for the next one. Hope this helps :)
While the game seems otherwise decent, I definitely wouldn't purchase it like this. The game as it is now appears far too laggy to be enjoyable. Since this demo will be people's first impression of what the actual game would be like, you might want to consider optimising the game so that it runs faster.
Strategy guide for the medium badge: Your top priority is Drones. When a level begins, move your City to high ground if possible, then reach as much of the map as you can with Collectors (try to build towards at least one Totem, and always build towards the spinning plusses, they're upgrades). If you collect an Upgrade, get the speed upgrade first, then the other Green ones. As the Creeper gets closer to your network, build Mortars near deep pools of Creeper and blaster to protect threatened Collector nodes. Near your city, build a Drone network and a Speed and Storage module. When the Drone charges, bomb near the Creeper spawn point. You should be able to move your mortars and blasters forward. Repeat this, build mortars & blasters as you need them and build more Drones as you do so (your goal is to have 2-3 of them by the time you're done.) Do this, and you'll be able to beat a level in about ten minutes. Good luck!
Forget the whole TCG thing, who the hell did all these voice-over effects? They're terrible! It's like the voice talent read all of their lines into a sock. Seriously guys, either filter that awful white noise out using Audacity, or find someone else!
Hi guys! JUST got the impossible badges for SCGMD2 and SCGMD3 today. A few tips: Don’t just watch the bar – watch a bit to the right so you can see what’s coming. If you can read the notes in groups of three or four, it'll be a lot easier to not slip up. If you're having trouble with a specific group of notes, try to practice it before you begin the song - muscle memory can help A LOT. And if the pattern is too long for you to remember, play the song you're having trouble with and press the "Prt Sc" key as soon as you see the pattern. Then open a Word document and hit Ctrl+V, and you'll have a screenshot of the pattern! Practice it and perfect it. (You'll thank me when you play Betrayal of Fate, the pattern halfway into that song is particularly evil.) And if you're still having problems... just download osu!mania and play it for two months. Even the hard songs will feel easy after that. Hope you appreciate my advice - and if you do, please + this so others can see it. Good luck!
To get all badges you'll need to cast manapool (M key) during waves to increase your score (and level) faster. As you level up, top out all mana upgrades and keep them that way. Then prioritize gem cost and building cost. Put what's left in gems and mastery (spend more in higher-grade gems and pure mastery) but invest all gem/mastery points in high-grade gems once you get them (put the remainder in pure mastery and lower-grade gems, but place those points in high-grade as well when you get enough points to do so). Use high-grade gems to max out every level you see. Finally, master pure mastery, then dual, then the rest. By then you'll be maxing out most stages first run through, dying only in later stages. NOTE - Manapool will be essential for completing later stages, but if used at the wrong time, it can and will kill you, so be wary when buying (to stay safe, have 2-3K extra mana in waves 25+ when expecting enemies to make it to the hut and 15K near epic bosses).
For the hard badge, remember: you have all the time in the world on classic mode. Don't just drop on a whim; let the cake move back and forth a few times so you can time your drop correctly. Go for edge and danger bonuses early on. The bonus multiplier is your friend. When you see a bomb coming up, go out of your way to avoid it, especially later on when the small cakes give you less leeway to "move" away. After you see the bomb, slowly move back towards it to pick up the danger bonus, then try to edge-stack a cake over the bomb to pick up an edge bonus and a danger bonus at the same time. If you follow all this, it is perfectly possible to get the hard badge without powerups through stacking alone. Just remember: get the bonus multiplier as high as possible, and to do that patience is key. Don't rush!
For the hard badge: Start by unlocking all upgrades (just spend one point in each skill). As soon as you find them, max out Healer Aura and both Infamy upgrades. Otherwise, buy MP Regen+ if you can. If you can't, buy Summon. After you have MP Regen+, focus on getting the Rainbow, Circus and two Mastery upgrades. Assuming you've maxed your unit limit, at the start of each level type 747875787477 (unless there's at least two holy towers, in which case type 747865787477). If you don't have a 12-unit limit yet, remove an equal number of units from the front and back of this setup. Each wave, spells are your friend. Always stun bog or atomic towers, quake splash damage towers and holy towers if they're doing too much damage and heal turtles as needed. As long as you do that, all levels can be Razed with this setup and then some. Good luck! + so others can see
@Reiknar The Badge of the Day is chosen randomly. It stands to reason it's possible to have the same Badge two weeks in a row, though it's really unlikely.

Just got all badges. For those who want to complete it quicker - start by getting all training modules. Then complete about ten missions in each skill, and fill your points as I outline below. Upgrade weapons and armor before the training section, and finally the bank if you're willing to wait for money. Play all stages until you are beaten, then complete ten more missions each. When your hero levels up, put everything in dodge, then when dodge caps at 40% fill block until 50% cap, then crit until 30% cap, and finally health. Ignore attack and ranged. For skills, fill Shield Bash, Heal and Omnisoul. Then fill Double Slash and Poison and Armor last. For talents, fill Impatient first, then Vampiric, Brutal, Deadly and Treacherous. Feel free to fill Blessed and Alchemist, but using this method you can survive to stage 20 of survival without potions, and complete the final boss using only one health potion. If this helped, please + to help others.
Note: The experience system in Gemcraft works based on your HIGHEST score in each mode of each level. For example, let's say your high scores in a level are currently 400k in Normal, 500k in Heroic, and 600k in Arcane. If you redid all these modes and got 600k on all of them, you would only get 200k exp on Normal, because your new score is only 200k above your last high score. Likewise, you would get 100k exp for Heroic, and no exp for Arcane because you didn't beat your high score. In other words, it is almost always better to complete new modes and levels than to redo old ones for better scores.
Thanks, We dont want to over look any small detail as it is in the small details that truly make a game great.
