The bleeding out mechanic is one of the smartest mechanics I have ever seen. You make a guy bleed, and all the armor in the world won't save him. So poetic.
See, this is the sort of thing that shouldn't be encouraged. Okay, the graphics are pretty. But the difficulty? Insane involves avoiding enemies on pain of losing time. Ande that's just not fair, because the enemies appear OUT OF NOWHERE. You have no time to react or avoid any of them unless you're in the centre, and some of the levels deliberately make sure that doesn't happen. And don't even get me started on the cluster bombs. How is getting hit by a cluster bomb and its pieces fair to anyone? Especially if you don't get ample warning that the cluster bomb is appearing on the spot that your snake is on? That's not good difficulty, that's unfair difficulty, and unfair difficulty is unacceptable. 3/5 for graphics and novel gameplay alone. If you want to get a 4 or higher, improve the gameplay. Include warning signs so you know where enemies are coming from, at least. Sorry but that's just how it has to be.
My god... Level 14 is even harder than Level 15. And that says a lot. Some tips for this level: Use the Commando armed with a machine gun. I beat the level with an AUG H-BAR, though I hear the OICW is the best. Secondary doesn't really matter. Use the Ammo Feed skill and Bouncing Betty killstreak. Close your parachute when you begin, you'll get a flag within 5 seconds of starting. Then kill as many soldiers as you can while you're alive. Shoot them on your way down if you have to. The key is the killstreak. Use it as soon as you get it, and place it in front of flags. This will slow down the capture of a flag. Killing with a Betty will also count in your current killstreak as well, so use Betties on flags often. Even with this strategy, I barely beat Level 14 (they had 90 when I finished), so prepare to lose A LOT before winning. But if you beat this level using this method, you can apply it to Level 15 as well. If this helped, please bump this.
This game is actually part of the Action 52 Owns project. Action 52 was an NES release consisting of terrible, unplayable games, and a group of programmers set off to make the games better. This game is one of them. 5/5 for an awesome effort.
ShadowWolf4: 'How to beat "Raining Hard on a Tiny Planetoid" with a ZORB?' Kamileon123: 'Just grab both balls with your manipulator and use them to hover near the hole with the button. Sometimes one of them will go inside.' Me: 'Don't forget to put yourself in the other hole afterwards! It will make you feel complete and it'll take you to a whole new level!'
From the creator of a trilogy of violent horror games that scared people shitless comes a violent cool game that will entertain people for about an hour. Good job. 5/5
Really cool game. You really feel like you're evolving into Cthulu. Pro tips: Always play cards that will give all of the good effects, and none of the bad. NEVER waste a card. Arcane is more over-powered than Elder; use Elder Sign to prevent devastating attacks while powering Arcane. Some cards go together, like Yog-Sothoth and City of Rl'yeh; use combos to cripple your opponent. And finally, remember - monsters do not attack every round; they are a counter, and will be weakened or neutered if blocked. If an Elder Thing can be put out, do so; a Shoggoth to remove overpowered monsters is also handy. Like I said, don't waste your cards and only use them when absolutely necessary, and with a bit of luck the battle will just play out. Have fun! P.S. Avoid the challenges - just don't do them. Says a lot when these tips will get you through Challenge 21 but not 15. :(
Don't get me wrong, I think you have a good puzzle game going here. But the work seems... unpolished. It looks more like a student project than an aspiring game. But that doesn't mean you can't get a finished look in your game. I mean, take 10 for example (it's a game on this site). The game itself is very simple, almost as simple as yours. But the artwork, the music, it all adds up to educe a certain feeling. Now you could make that sort of feeling in this game as well. All you need to do is polish up the buttons, the UI and the sound effects a bit. But make it original. I can't rate you higher than a 3 for pure gameplay, but if you try to make it polished, I will definitely raise my rating. I suggest looking at other puzzle games and analyzing how they try and use artwork to achieve a certain wow factor with players.
Pro tips for the hard badge: 1. Upgrade everything, but use the smallest hull. Smaller target, and also easier to monitor damage. 2. Remember you can turn your engine off. Use this to circumnavigate things. 3. Fuel. You'll need it. 4. The hitboxes are bigger than you think. If you think you can just avoid something, give it more leeway. You won't avoid it. 5. Lightning is okay, but best avoided. But if you need to travel through clouds, do it at full speed with all boosters fired. 6. Only use boosters if you're in the red zone on fuel, if you just stopped your engine and need to regain speed, or if you have to avoid obstacles. Apart from that, use sparingly. Do all of this, and you can get the hard badge, and even get to 300,000 feet without damage, no problem. + this if it helps.
Okay, this one is terrible. On top of bad graphics, no offset, and an invincible powerup that isn't invincibe, you get penalized for holds AND the lag is significant. Okay, I have a bad computer, but SCGMD3 ran perfectly fine and didn't have the shit I have to put up with this one.
A lovely pun. XD
