OK, here is the key that nobody seems to mention--- when you win, start a New++ game with a DIFFERENT HERO. You get to KEEP all your cards you already have along with upgrades. SO the game is trivial thanks to your 5th level existing cards. As you level, each hero gets NEW and different cards. Then you can mix and match however you want. You can fill up your Zap skill bar and have meteor, thunderstroke, buff-up, etc.
HINTS: Get an AutoClicker...it makes the disc launcher a great weapon, and reduces finger stress a lot.-------------Next, the Blue airship is one of the best turrets in the game! You get a platform that enemies can shoot at (decoy), and you ALSO get a flying ship that enemies shoot at (another decoy), and finally the ships themselves do a decent job of cleanup, so you can focus on the big stuff while they shoot the little crap flying around. For 4k, it is an absolute STEAL.------------For most missions, take the double machine gun, OR the triple machine gun if you can afford it. TRY to survive a few waves with JUST one gun. This lets all the XP go towards that gun, which you use to buy +damage. This is the best upgrade you can get on a machine gun and is extremely worthwhile. On the mission with all the Heavy opponents, use a Disc Launcher. Your MGs wont penetrate fast enough, the blue lazers suck, and the heavy cannon sucks too.
So I go to the trouble to modify my deck... It wont let me do it because I now have more gold leftover than allowed! So I cannot pick cheaper (and more effective) stuff!
This severely limits your ability to do anything as you are forced to take expensive cards and not swap with cheaper ones.
Its not bad, but it is just too SLOW. Taking a turn takes forever and lots of clicking for a basic move-attack.
Lockpicking sucks. Especially since there is no way to abort. Once you break your lockpick you are screwed.
Yay, glorious victory!! Sort of....Hue can be pretty much ignored. It basically punishes you for making too many of the same gem... things of the same or opposite(I forget) hue are much more resistant!-----------Higher level hints: Get to level 7 in Blue gem and Orange. Get some traplayer discount. For the longer levels, make 3 traps... place 1 blue in front to slow, then your 2 free orange gems to suck mana. They fire a LOT faster as a trap rahter than a tower, and also suck more mana. This really can help power your way ahead. I won the game's final level with a corridor of about 8 orange gem traps to pump my mana massively.
Pldn, hint wise: The main way to get points is with the badges, each level. First, make sure you ALWAYS send the next level early. By early, I mean 1 click before it would be sent anyways. This gives you a bonus badge. Also, gembomb ANYTHING on the map for another nice bonus. If you kill all crap on the map, you get some good XP. Having more than 2000 mana gives you a badge too, as does a certain number of kills. Check to see what gives XP.
---------------------
Then, just go thru the levels, gaining XP and doing your points. The early level talents are crappy anyways so no worries there. Once you hit level 8, you can play a new MODE. NOW, you can get TRIPLE score for certain maps. PLAY THOSE FOR SURE! Now you continue doing maps, hitting the triple score maps, until you hit about level 40. Then, you finally get some strong skills.
I dunno about this one. If the damn lures actually WORKED, it would help. I make these beautiful traps, but I cant block the ENTIRE FRIGGIN MAP. How the heck am I supposed to do anything when they flat IGNORE all my traps!? They walk right past em.
My legions of triple shot archers, supported by the AoE slow guy seems to be able to destroy all comers. Apparently I am some kind of tactical genius... ;-)
It is fully and cute. However, the balance is horrible. You have NO time to figure it out before you are overwhelmed.
Once you learn by suffering, it seems like just 1 little foe at 5% health can BLOW UP 3 buildings! That costs thousands of dollars and thus you basically lose.
The key to the game is Compound Interest.
Start with a bunch of pikeman, but keep some kash handy. Be sure to REPAIR your dudes in combat.
Do your best to not lose anyone, and spend NO GOLD on upgrades.
Beat up the crappy countries, and pretty soon you will be rolling in cash due to +10% of your big reserves every round. Then, you can start upgrading and buying more dudes.
The EASIEST path is to just buy pikemen, then you dont have to rearrange them much. Buy a CRAPLOAD of them! Maintennce costs are irrelevant when you are making 4k on interest.
The more you have, the more XP gets earned. Keep the sucky ones in the back, while your Spartan Uber dudes pwn everyone.
Eventually having a crapload of godlike pikemen will pay off.
Why is rated a 4? It is a nice effort, but has no combos, relatively poor graphics, no guy variety, no real strategy yet.
I think the idiots around here just want a 4.0+ so it can get Badges. Geez.
The damage booster does not seem to work. Did 40 damage before. Added booster right next to machine gun. Still 40. Upgraded booster several times. STILL 40.
Cmon Idiots... quit spamming whining for badges. If the game is rated high enough (4.0 ave), they will eventually be implement if the game supports it.
To beat level 17: You CAN NOT break down the structure, even with bombs or Lead, Big attacks. ------ Instead, go for SCORE! Use Steel Block and Cluster Bombs and GO FOR THE FLAGS. They are worth tons. Killing guards/king are practically worthless on this level. Flags are the key
Wierd. They used to have this game and now its 'new'. Dev musta pulled it for some reason. Anyways, this one has a few bugs: You can place buildings sometimes ON TOP of each other! BUT, you sometimes have problems selling your structures too, so it evens out.
