K guys... the strategy guide is HERE: http://www.kongregate.com/pages/my-pet-protector-guide/?gamereferral=my-pet-protector --- It tells you exactly what bonuses you get, etc. If you want a challenge, start as a Ranger. Train TWICE in melee and in magic, then go to the Dragonfrost dungeon, and you should JUST be able to beat the skeletons with magic (10 dmg to them, you take 14 back)
Great results everyone. My best is noble knight tier 2, but only 120k points. How are you guys getting all them points?? Grats on Holy Paladin.... I really wanted to get that too, but I still got KNight. Theoretically better, but cmon... Paladin > KNight any day :-)
Wow, some of you people are stupid! What if someone gave you a rusty sword when you were 14 and sent YOU off to a dungeon? You have to TRAIN your dude before adventuring...duh!-----Zed, great score. Make sure you also max Fame, and both Combat and Magic reputation too. Then finish off with massive POETRY training which boosts most of your non-combat skills, and it only lowers Faith which you wont have anyways.
Cmon guys... you dont send a noob into the field straight away. At least TRY to train the poor boy first.
The easy way is to master a job first...say like Construction which gives you a free 15 atk hammer. Once you have gained several free STR/CON boosts and cash for training, THEN maybe you wont miss so much...
The higher Tier is best. My best is Tier 2 which is Noble Knight. Done by maxing all magic AND melee skills via Ranger, then training Poetry to max several other skills.
Oh yeah.. Noble Knight. At the very end, I trained Poetry as I had already maxed out all fighting and magic skills and all fame. This boosted my non-combat skills to maximum. So I wound up with about 12 attrubytes at 100%
Woot! Tier TWO result. 102018 points. I went Ranger, used magic and limped by with NO working at all for 50 turns. Did school to boost magic to use to do dungeons and randoms. --- Then, at 15yrs old, I went with GUARD. The fortune teller job drops your magic skill which is bad! I still boosted magic mostly, but also some melee. After I maxed out magic, I worked on Melee. So I was 100 in magic attk/defense, 100 melee, and 100 fame, 100 magic fame, 100 melee fame.
Quick Guide - Click Sequence. See the bar? That is how much room you have for boosts. You start with nothing but 3 colors, which are ONLY for determining your color. i.e. Yellow so you can see your numbers easier. ---- Now, start experiment and pick one of the 4 bubbles. This is like picking your level. When you win, you get a Gene, aka Powerup. Go to the sequencer, place the Gene (with like +1defense or whatever) onto the bar. Click Sequence to Save this group of powerups. Finish the next 3 experiments, repeating. Once you do, another area of 4 opens up. Repeat. Eventually, the Power-ups take more and more space, and you have to make hard decisions what to keep in your limited space.
Is there any such thing as instructions, so you have some clue WHAT THE HELL YOU ARE DOING?!?
What the heck does the colors have to do with anything? Im confused. The game itself is obvious, but NOT the upgrade system.
Its alright. The evolution makes NO sense at all though. I had like 7 missile cores and it did nothing but shoot 3 missiles, 1 slow, 1 fast. The so called Tech seems utterly worthless. Had 3 of em, and did nothing. Losing a hex is DEVASTATING. You mine as well give up, cuz you have lost an entire level effectively.
GUIDE -- the key to victory is to move your armies as far away from your base as possible! You want to be able to recall them if attacked, but by moving them out, you get MASSIVE CONTROL. This means you get a lot more money, and the bad guys get a lot LESS money. This is really what makes the difference. Do NOT crank out power plants...get dudes out the door ASAP and move em away from base.
Geez. 900 billion net worth this time. Of course, I STILL lost the final battle with a billion soldiers.----- Anyways, if you want really ridiculous scores, the first 5 turns are key. If you get invaded or screwed over, just start over. On the other hand, a few bonuses can really boost the moneymaking. I wait 3 turns then make a market. From there, equal money in market, farm, houses from then on.
The key is to IGNORE military altogether. Raiding is completely useless as you lose all your troops every time.
You ALWAYS lose when raided too. Even with 1 million troops, I STILL lose the final battle.------So, ONLY focus on houses, farms(equal numbers of each), and markets. Then, add some taverns to keep morale boosted, and you are golden.--My first game: 2000ish net worth. When ignoring military, it went to 9 million..
Strategy Guide: PLEASE REPOST!! --Start with one guy..I recommend the Bloody. As you win battles you
level to 30. During, you get NEW CARDS which is SOLELY BASED on WHAT LEVEL you get and WHICH DUDE you
are playing! (Ex: Viecraft the Red unlocks Succubus, Dragon Rider, and Phoenix Strike) After you win
a campaign, do a New Game++ and pick a DIFFERENT DUDE. Repeat game, keeping ALL cards you already won!
As your NEW hero levels up, you get MORE CARDS. Repeat this process until you have BEATEN THE GAME
with ALL HEROES. MAKE sure to UPGRADE and use all gold before you win each map or its lost! You can
challenge Cave to get some easy cash, even though you lose. Now, you have ALL the cards except titans.
For CAVES, repeat game with one of the 6 heroes. The catch is that EACH HERO has DIFFERENT STATS! Some
have tough castles but crappy maximum mana, and vice versa. Upgrade all the cards that you want to
use! Then, you can fight the Caves prepared to do so.

Just push the invis goblin with Mermaids, Witch, Black Knight and Centaur Archers because they all have knockback effect. And of course, mainly because they mobilize very fast across the field. Use Athena's Protection and Hercule's Strength upon coming in contact with the invisible goblin. Use Phoenix Strike at half of the map crossed so you won't stop to attack puny goblins while the invisible one destroys your castle. The main thing is you destroy their castle while using both Hercule and Athena's Protection to ward off damage and damage quickly before the invisible goblin finds its way through all the knockback effects. Important: KNOCKBACK EFFECT, SPEED, DAMAGE, PHOENIX STRIKE to clear off goblins while attacking castle. time your phoenix strike wisely.
