Also, getting those blurry, disappearing kids (boy and girl) on your house when you find 'em all... creepy weird. It's these details what make a great game. 5/5
Timing is way too important for our units to take so long to enter a destroyed building... that makes level 8 of icedale cult tedious. Lots of tries with the good strategy, just that your units are idiots.
Also, luck can really play in your favor. If so, take a look at a Pugilist after reading a spellbook. I got the Paladin's passive, Righteous Wrath. With that and brutality, groups of enemies turn into bowling pins - and you're the ball! +10/5 for this game. Replay value is just magnificent.
Tip for you all fellas playing Gunslinger Alchemist: don't bother getting attack->pistol, get wits->pistol. It will be far more useful, specially if you find a fireball. With fireball, 2xpistol, and blink, you are just unkillable. Specially on acts. On the tower, you may want to have stone skin or teleport instead.
Being a mage, having at the same time fireball, inspiration, form wisp, elemental pact and enslave as I had makes the tower something absolutely crazy... You create a damn army in seconds! I only lasted until the 48th floor, while I expected to win with this... but because I was careless. Kick-ass. Try it! It's worth the luck and effort!
Having trouble with clearing acts on higher difficulties? Get mage, use fencer and trust fund. Get leech, 1 point on toughness, one on willpower, two on forcefield (or just one) and at least one on spell damage to make fireball more reliable. Always aim for items that give you high intellect or health, but do not neglect speed. Also, don't think that just because you have +1 attack you will be good in melee fights. And defense may help a lot against the first boss, too, as he always attacks in melee.
