Also, I wanted to add, I've been playing guitar since I was 13, been in a number of bands and actually toured in US in a small tour. So trying to play guitar on a keyboard instead of a real guitar is really weird. I am incredibly good at Guitar Hero though lol. Lastly, even though that was probably the longest I've ever waited for a game to load, the little conversation was great, loved it.
Alright so now that I've played it a bit. First, so that I don't sound like I'm hating on the game; I do enjoy it. It's fun, the songs are decent and it's a good concept for a flash game. That being said, the controls are incredibly hard to get down. I thought the controls for Santa Rockstar were hard..that was a walk in the park compared to trying to learn these. It takes a really long time for your brain to connect the right dot with the right key since it's not like the note is the same as the key. Like with SR, a far left note was A, a far right note was L etc etc. This takes a hell of a lot longer to learn. I can deal with a learning curve, that's fine, but, there is one huge problem, and that problem is lag. My laptop is pretty old so lag is common If it lags at all you are screwed and are going to miss everything until it stops lagging. So, overall, while the learning curve is very steep and lag destroys your song, it's a good, unique game.
This comment is to two people. 1st, Corbin..Well, somehow I doubt you got 74,999. But, Ok, lets say you were one point off. 1. You still didn't get it and 2. If it were too easy, you would have a much higher score than even 75,000. If it was so easy, you should have a few hundred thousand no problem. Now, kindly please stop being an idiot. That being said, I do have to give you credit for getting the Rhythm Prodigy and Sketch Artist badges. Those ones are tough. To tipall12876, besides the fact that one million would take hours and probably isn't possible, I notice you don't have the badge either. What is with people and trying to act all amazing at this game?
Good lord. First time I played this, I got to level 27. Then my Norton Antivirus expired and all my progress from all games were erased. So...I get Norton reinstalled and I make it back to level 25. Wanna guess what happens next? Somehow my cookies were deleted..so I lost all my progress..again. By the time I finish level 30, provided I don't lose it all again, I will have done 82 levels for that hard badge.
Well damn. Just finished level 12. 12 levels doesn't sound like much, but it actually took me many hours to complete it all. I only failed once and it still took a very long time. As much as I'd like to beat all the Iron and Heroic challenges, I'm not going to right now, it'll be too frustrating because of how much harder they are. But, Ironhide....amazing job. You made someone who hates TD games, fall in love with this. Best TD game ever made and one of my favorite games period. Just amazing.
Oh..my..god. Level 9. Wave 19/19, spent 25 minutes getting this far. The yeti is walking towards the stairs. I'm not worried, you can't even see his health bar anymore it's so low.....ok...why isn't he dying? ......Why isn't he dying?!?! His life bar was totally empty, and even after 30 more seconds of fire from 5 fully upgraded towers...he just walks off the screen...and the last 25 minutes have been for nothing. What.the.hell??? He had 0 life left...kept getting fired upon and still survives???? Dammit. I still love this game but that was just unfair..and I may have a problem with cookies where every time I close Firefox it deletes all cookies and therefor all saved progress for all games.
TO HELP A FEW PEOPLE, YOU NEED TO REACH 20,000 FEET TO COMPLETE THE GAME. + This so others can see. Just finished getting all the badges...at..let's see..3:09 am. The experience was ruined a lot by the fact that Firefox is the only browser I can get to work (every other browser acts like I have no internet connection so if you can help me, message me please), and it's lagging horribly so, it took me awhile going half the speed of everything. But that's not the dev's fault. I really enjoy games of this "launcher" genre, and this was a great one. Certainly in the top 3. 4/5. Hope to see a sequel.
@ aanuel and presto303. You just came for the card? That's ridiculous. This is a fantastic game. if you're only here for the card, you shouldn't be playing it at all.
I love this genre..although I don't know what to really call it. I'm surprised (but glad) that this got badges considering My Dear Boss got them not very long ago. Collecting supplies mid flight adds a new level of depth to these games. Kingdom Rush, Awesome Tanks, and now this...this is a fantastic day in my Kongregate career.
That's only the 2nd time I've seen Greg put someones screen name in the badge description. You know Chaorrupted's profile views are going to sky rocket. Other one was the Poetic End badge.
Just finished level 15. Great game. BADGE GUIDE: First, level up your armor all the way...or 3/4 of the way, the last upgrade is pretty expensive, up to you. Then you want to buy the laser and all 3 upgrades for it as soon as you possibly can. I'm serious, doing so will make everything so much easier. Replaying mission 6 is good because it's short and gives you a good amount of money. I just kept replaying 6 to save for the laser but you can use any level you want really, 6 is just short and easy. Honestly once you have the fully upgraded laser, you don't even need the other weapons. Just make sure to stock up on ammo for it after every mission...how a laser has ammo I have no idea. After you buy it, just upgrade all your tank stats, then you can buy other weapons if you want. Good luck!
I love this. It's simple so there's not much to say other than it just being pure fun. The one huge problem I do have though, is all the levels are so small and cramped. It makes it very hard to dodge anything. You have no room to move around...avoid shots. And then you get ganged up on a lot where 4 or 5 tanks will all be on you at once. Combine that with the small spaces and you take a lot of damage. It is a huge annoyance. Other than that, great game. 4/5
I will admit, I have to eat my words and I was totally wrong. This, is good. Really good. A few people know I have a hate for TD games.not because I don't enjoy them but, anyways. Having specific spots to put towers has made things a million times easier. I will also admit I'm playing on the easy setting right now but. For me to say I love a TD game, it must have done something really special. This is the first TD game I have ever loved..and I really do try liking others in the genre. Ironhide, incredible job.
Well, I'll try it, hopefully it'll prove me wrong. Another TD game. When will it end? It's been awhile since any new badges have been added, and when they finally do it's for...another TD game. They need their own category because they are so popular and it seems like every single TD game to come out gets badges. Want badges on Kongregate? Just make a Tower Defense game.
....Un.freaking.believable. I missed getting badge of the day and an extra 30 points by 15 damn dollars!! f*ck! And I would have had it because just so that I could get BOTD before time ran out, I looked at Tasslefoots walkthrough for the only last level I needed for thebadge. I never used walkthrough but I had to finish it withing 3 minutes before it turned midnight. Built it EXACTLY the same way he did, to the T, but the bridge snapped when the guy was walking back and it's now 12:01. My god, RAGE. Seriously, nothing is good enough for this game. It doesn't matter how damn secure your bridge is, it's all just luck. Even if you build an identical bridge to one you saw hold, it still falls. Jesus...missed 30 points by 15 dollars, damn bridges. I do love the concept of this, but the bridges just seem to do whatever the hell they want, no matter how well built they are, and that ruins all the fun.
Still...I've been trying to like this. It's good to see I'm not the only one with issues. I have tried making bridges 100 different ways, most of them should be solid as a rock, but no matter how many ways I try it, they either just break on their own or as soon as any weight is put on it. The supplies are seriously too weak.
I've tried to like this game, more than once. But it seems like nothing is ever good enough. No matter how many different ways I connect the bridge, the connecters, once I get to about level 10, nothing works. I can have 100 supports above and below the bridge, triangle pattern above, supports below, but it will still collapse. It's like all the wood is made from balsa wood or Styrofoam or something.
I love this. You really need a mouse for it. And even then the controls take a lot of getting used to. Once you can manage them though, it's just a hilarious game.
I enjoy these kind of weird...somewhat out there games. 2 things though, he tells you to touch the statue, but doesn't explain that they're checkpoints. I get that wouldn't be..part of the experience but at least something to say it's a checkpoint. The other things is the controls are..slippery. It feels like your running around on ice all the time. Other than those things, it's a fun, thought provoking experience. 4/5
