This is a good game. It's unique and fun. But it does suffer from some problem. It's easy to get hit since you have no way of defending yourself other than to move, the hit detection is pretty off sometimes, and the whole strategy mode thing at the end was confusing. I got the basics of it but I couldn't fully figure it out so I just had to randomly click until I got to the commander. Overall, a fun, interesting idea that's not amazing, but an enjoyable experience overall. Plus, getting the Samurai Jacked badge, got me to level 40. Sweet.
Sorry for the double post but, HELL YEAH! Just beat the Boss Rush and the badge is mine. For everyone trying to beat Boss Rush, the Mana Staff will be your best friend. Brute force won't work on Lance. Personally, I used the Pirate Hat, Viking armor and Mana Staff. I think it made for a balanced skill set. You need the Mana staff so that you can gain MP from hitting both the bosses and their minions. Make sure your heal spell is maxed and always save 1 or 2 orbs to heal yourself. It's slow, but as long as you just keep hitting him, using the special attacks sparingly, use his own mines against him and MAKE SURE TO SAVE 1 OR 2 orbs to heal yourself, you'll beat them eventually. Good luck.
Alright. I'm back to finish Boss Rush. I made it to the final boss..got him down to about 3% health..and I died. ragequit. This is a really really fantastic game and other than boss rush, I've really enjoyed it.
Holy.Hell. That was possibly THE hardest badge I have ever gotten. If not the hardest, it's certainly in the top 5 toughest. To get over 1000, you have to get a perfect score on every level...and then do 10 times better It really should be an impossible badge...in fact I've gotten Impossibles that weren't that hard..just, wow. Idk if it's just me but that hard badge, get's nominated for most difficult badge on the site.
So...I got 900 points, and all the achievements. I figured getting the 900 point achievement would give me an extra 100 points for the badge. There is no way in hell I can score another 100 points...I've already gotten perfect strikes plus some on almost every level...what the hell. I'm seriously supposed to get another 100 points?? I don't even see how that's possible..I can't do any better on any of the levels.....this should be an impossible badge because I just spent 2 hours getting a score of 900 and now I'm supposed to get another 100??? W.T.F
Alright. I have to say. It's won me over. I'm only on level 3 but I love it so far. The controls feel a little slippery but, other than that it's great. 5/5 for what I've played.
This is one of the few Nerdook games I don't enjoy. After you get past the first 2 fugitives, it just seems like the opponent is always going to have a stronger army. The 3rd fugitive, had 11 freaking turrets that just mowed all my soldiers down and I had to wait for the Orbital bombardment to kill him. And for some reason it always seems like your soldiers die much much easier than any of theirs.
Sorry, I just have to post again. Just finished all levels and I've raised my score to 5/5. As long as you have a mouse, this is an incredibly fun, very addictive game. It's also like taking speed because it's so high paced and chaotic. So...if you've ever wondered what doing Coke is like, just beat every level of the game...same thing.
I used to try playing this with my trackpad...totally impossible. Much easier with a mouse now. But still, the sinking platforms really annoy me. It's hard to hit every enemy before they land because they're usually in the way of that damn sawblade. Other than that annoyance, a good Nerdook game.
I swear, this game is going to send me to a mental ward. It's like every single jump, every enemy, every trap, every platform was put in exactly the spot so that you just barley get hit, just barley miss the jump. I keep making it 282 miles and then I either fall in the stupid water trying to dodge the damn wolves in a van...or get hit by the next wolf van...or the one AFTER THAT! And then there's that retardedly long swamp and the end with 2 or 3 walls of birds that I see no way of avoiding. I'm so fed up I hardly care about the hard badge anymore..I just want to make it that last 12 miles so I can complete the 8th puzzle. It's still a unique, fun game, but that all wore off a long time ago and has been replaced with pure frustration
You know what makes this game hard? It's the damn bosses. They fire so many shots, do so much damage when they hit, and all have some huge beam attack that does even more damage, then to top it off, you have regular enemies shooting at you too. They just do an unfair amount of damage...especially with how much health they have. I can make it through the stages without getting hit at all. But I've lost 3 lives on 2 bosses so far...dammit.
HA! FINALLY!!!Good lord. It took me two hours, but I finally found the last 3 journal pages. I can now truley give this game a great rating. Other than the marathon search at the end..it was a really good experience. I look forward to a WaS3.
Ok. I'll be honest. I wasn't a huge fan of the first one. It wasn't bad but. ..But this one..you outdid yourself. The atmosphere, graphics, everything comes together to create an incredibly fun and relaxing experience. It took me about 45 mins to get all the mushrooms, 22 journal pages, all the pixies and all the orbs. But....I have now been looking for the last 3 pages for an hour and a half. I have 1 chest left to open but I can't find the key. I have gone in every nook and cranny a million times looking for this key, or these pages...it's driving me insane. I'm so close to that hard badge. Other than me not being able to finish this last 2% of the game, it's been a fantastic experiencee. 4/5.....once I finish it that is...where the hell are those last 3?!?!?
Ok, got 4,000,000 and all the badges. It’s simple, exciting as hell, not tear your hair out difficult, but you still need some skill. Mostly it’s just adrenaline filled fun at it’s best. I feel like fighting a bear after running 3 marathons and finish by bending some steel..that’s how exciting this game is. 6/5
Oh.what.the.hell. My final score after nuking Sydney? 3,978,409..... Damn...it. Other than just barley missing the badge, this game is so much fun. It's just chaotic, mindless but still takes skill, pure insanity and pure fun. 5/5. Now I just have to get the extra 20,000 missed points...gah..so close..
I am so tired of trying to make it to the end with all 6 pigs. I don't even want to know how many times I've now now. This game was fun for awhile and is unique, but..it starts getting old and trying to get that hard badge is just torture at this point. It's so easy to miss a jump. I swear the developer put every platform right where he knows your just barley going to miss it.
Never have I had so much fun mowing cute animals down with an M-16. 4/5 because this is just a pure shoot em up, mow em down, fun as hell game. Course I haven't tried hard mode yet..so it may make me wanna break something..we'll see.
Stylistically, and from art and ascetics wise , to gameplay, this one one of the best games on the site...BUT, that hard badge..is about to make me break something. I cannot tell you how many hundreds of times I've just barley, barley missed something by the smallest fraction of an inch and it screws my whole score up. I've gotten 130,000 twice and 140,000 once...but I just cannot get 145,000 from just missing things by the very slimmest of a hair. So, other than me seriously pissed I can't get 145,000, this is a gorgeous, incredibly unique and amazing game.
