As for the legality: Source code was released publicly. Any modifications to it are legal. AFAIK, distribution including data files can ONLY be done with the demo, shareware data, which this game has. Therefore, no illegal content.
No code modifications? Obsolete menu options? No ability to switch key bindings? Put some effort into your port. Look at what some other groups have done with the source.
An interesting card game, but there's still some bugs in the programming of it. Some card stay around far longer than they're supposed to (for example, Enforced Silence stayed around until I filled my hands with cards, a full 6 turns), and some text effects keep coming up every found long after the card is gone (Frailty). 4/5. (Good game, -1 for bugs.)
For those having problems with the jump in level 3: You CAN make the jump after breaking the crates. Use your attack while in the air, and you'll spin forward. That'll give you enough distance to make the jump.
Short, and too easy to exploit. A few bugs where players can get past where they are supposed to be, in some cases getting stuck. The "arcade mode" is endless, and becomes impossibly easy after a while (once you've gone into rage mode, a single combo kills the enemies, nets you with a positive rage, and in most cases, positive life score, letting you essencially play indefinitely, sine it never gets harder). However, a solid start to a flash beat 'em up. Bosses were amusing, but again, Rage mode slaughters them. 2/5
To get all endings in one game (I do recommend trying to figure them out yourself first, this is just for amusement):
Take a picture of the boy. Drop him on the boat. Take a picture of the girl. Drop her on the moon. Take a picture of the girl. Drop her on the boat, next to the boy. Take a picture of both the boy and girl. Drop them on the seagull. Take a picture of the boy and girl. Drop them on the boat. Wait for the moon to rise, then come back smaller. Take a picture of the moon. Drop it on the boy. Take a picture of the boy and girl. Drop them in the ocean.
5 endings, no resetting.
By use of a glitch to autofire the crossbow, this game ends up playing itself. Exp system is designed to draw out the game, giving you less reward the more efficient you are. Good idea, flawed execution. 2 stars, if that.
