Alright, let's do this numerically since someone's already done a list alphabetically. #1: To everyone whining about "lag". It's either your browser or your computer, figure out which and amend the issue ok? #2: I agree with mendelde, some people may be asking for a skill to boost repair speed but I disagree whole heartedly with the idea. I think it'd be a MUCH better idea to increase the amount of HP restored per "tick" with the repair ability. Meaning if your sentries or ship are damaged you can repair their health faster but leave the % repair speed the same. That's the only complaint I really have. (See part 2 for the rest.)
Not a bad game, the controls are fairly fluid and the scheme of them is entirely up to you (always a plus.) I agree with Ace, the backtracking with no way to indicate where you have to go is crippling to this genre of Metroidvania games. But, he and many others have over looked the most glaring flaw of this game. There is NO item screen, no way of telling what all you've collected, no idea whether anything's still missing or not. That is a serious problem that needs to be addressed if you continue this series (which I hope you do, it's an excellent game.) All in all it's a good game, the flaws it has don't ruin it for those of us who don't have to collect 100%. 4 out of 5.
That's some kinda story..The puzzles were simple, and the time travel concept is surprisingly easy to understand. Now if only there were a way to actually save EVERYONE...
I couldn't agree more, the only solution to this problem though would be for people to grow up. Unfortunately, far too many people believe it's their RIGHT to FORCE their OPINIONS on others. Everyone needs to realize one simple thing; I am me, you are you, it's not my place to tell you how to be. Now that I'm done ranting..The game's cute, music isn't horrible but then again it took me all of five minutes to complete it. Short and sweet, and honestly I believe you pulled off exactly what you intended to. Kudos for trying to enlighten other people but it's all in vain, and effort in vain is wasted just the same. 4/5 stars.
Lots of people are really entrenched in their closed, traditional views which is quite sad. But, with time, those people will become the vast minority, outnumber by the happy loving people in the world! Even here, for every hateful comment someone posts, there's dozens of positive happy comments :) Thanks for playing, and remember yo - nothing's ever in vain. Sounds like a BS movie cliche, but it's totally true <3
It is quite original and has decent gameplay as well as some interesting power ups (love the wall smash!) I am however very unhappy with the fact that running off the screen UP kills you..Those of us who're really good at running mazes may get far enough ahead to where that's a potentially serious (and repetitive) problem. If that were fixed I'd be more than happy to give it a 4/5 for originality and gameplay.
I would go so far as to say it's not only bad it's downright garbage..You put no effort into this, there's one "level" and if you fail it you put up a screen that says "You suck." Actually, I think this could only really be described as offensive honestly. The only way to "beat" it is to right click then move to the blue dot and left click. Next time put a little more effort into it and a little less insulting to the players kiddo.
Come now kenneth, quit giving people bad advice. I know for a fact it does, I tested it. A monster that was giving me 2 with no Student was giving me 4 by the time I was close to mastering it.
(P.S. I wouldn't have found that out, but this game requires a fair bit of backtracking.)
Now for the game! Yes, the music can be somewhat painful, but the creator had the foresight to add a volume control (Thanks!) The graphics aren't amazing, but they aren't horrible either. I grew up playing games with worse graphics after all, so I'm not that hard to please. The fact that you created an action/RPG hybrid out of a Zelda-esque game however is a neat idea, and leaves me wishing Nintendo would've done that long ago. I can already hear some people pointing out Zelda II, yeah yeah..It's not the same thing though kiddies, completely different battle set up. I haven't played very far, but I'm hoping the quests will become a little less generic (and off the wall in some cases.) Overall, I'd say 4/5.

(P.S. You should rename the main screen's "New Game" button to say "Play", it can confuse the less intelligent of our species.)
(P.P.S. Blasted text limit..)
Metisma, I had thought to gently correct your way of thinking, but instead I'll be blunt. No invincibility frames!? WHAT HAS THE WORLD COME TO!? Let's be realistic kiddo, if you're getting the tar stomped out of you by someone, you don't flash and become invincible for a few seconds. An intelligent person DOES avoid fighting large groups unless they have a death wish. And yes, the creator did take sprites, and portraits, and blah blah blah..Do you realize how much whining you're doing? Probably not..Do yourself a favor, go play Contra for the Nintendo THEN come talk to me about difficult.
Epicon, if the developer did that it would detract from the difficulty of it, which half of the difficulty is just trying to get three stars. The other half, is if you're color blind.
Let's see..There's one more bug I've noticed, when you buy the sword from the shop it says +10 damage and +2% to crit chance. When you look on your character page, it's there at the bottom left. Hovering over it with your mouse it says "Level1 Sword" and shows it as only giving +5 damage instead of +10. Also, you need to give us a wider array of abilities..As it stands, mining is essentially useless unless you spend all of your early gold getting the upgraded pickaxes. That's a big flaw though in my opinion, a player should be able to go through the game choosing whatever route they want and still be successful. Not saying it should be a cake-walk, but they should be able to survive and eventually be able to afford the things they need/want through whatever avenue they chose. I mean to say, things like Mining should get better through practice, as it stands now the ability to mine doesn't do us any good without the upgraded pickaxes.
So, uh, "sonic" you do realize you can upgrade your character with the button at the bottom middle, right? Every level you get X amount of upgrade points, take your pick. Although from my experience I would advise taking damage, then range, then damage, then both movements, then whatever else you feel like. The monsters are rather weak, although I think one actually upgraded itself or started upgraded..Anyway, the graphics aren't very good, there's no sound to speak of..But the gameplay is actually not bad, and it moves fast enough to where you don't pay much attention to the graphics and sound. Polish it up, add some story and some tunes/noises and I'd be shocked if you didn't see decent scores for this.
Thanks, I'm keeping as it is because it was for the ludum dare (ludumdare.com). I agree that story & sounds are very important. Sonic's problem is an actual game bug where the game freezes in a way when an enemy has no way to locate itself next to you (such as going against a wall and let yourself get surrounded by 3, while 1 is left with no way to get to you. I agree that it's extremely easy when you use the upgrades (and a little bit impossible if you don't), I unfortunately didn't give myself time to get down and dirty with balancing the system.
As everyone else has pointed out, it's very short. The first level was ridiculously hard compared to the last level. I think you got the concept of "learning curve" backwards, as far as that's concerned. The graphics in the third level are as impressive as the first level's graphics are simplistic. No music, almost no sounds..That needs to be worked on. And, there is one thing I would point out as a mistake you made. You need to make the X button the required key to skip the message heading into new levels. I accidentally pushed the right key again after completing the first level and have no idea what was said after I beat it.
I hate to do this, as it shows a lack of originality..But Mozai's completely right, boring doesn't even begin to describe this game. There's almost literally nothing to it. The graphics are..Cartoony, which some people will enjoy but it's generally hit or miss. There's not much background music or sounds to speak of, an extremely bad idea considering the whole premise of the game is waiting and watching. I'd comment on the gameplay, but there doesn't seem to be any. I'd comment on the replay value too, but I really don't see any of that either. I'm sorry for being so negative, I'm not normally this harsh with games. But, there HAS to be gameplay in it for it to be a game..I know, you could argue there is 'cause you're telling it to do missions, but WE're not doing anything. No skill involved beyond a little planning and a LOT of luck in "battles". Is it horrible? No, some people will like it, but I'm not one of them.
Very fun, I've always enjoyed typing games. (Doesn't hurt that I type at almost 120 words a minute with a 98% accuracy rating.) However, I was quite offended by level 2 of Hurt Me Plenty. The last two ships show up and start shooting before you even see what the words are, doesn't seem very fair in my opinion. But, I digress..The graphics are good, the music was muted (thanks for the mute button,) but reminded me of Tetris when I did listen to it. Gameplay's good, I haven't seen any blank enemies yet. The achievements are cute, but can't you make one that goes beyond 20 enemies without a missed word? twenty's such a low number..Besides, all you'd have to do is farm a low level to get them without trying too hard.

This is a great series of games, it's initial creation was a flash of inspiration to bring gamers a new and innovative way to play. The only problem is the same, lingering issue that's plagued me since the first time I played Pizzeria. The "waiting" score is totally off kilter, every time I get at least 90% in everything BUT waiting. The first order I take and complete after taking a second order, but I still only get upper 80s for a percentage. This forces most players to pour their money into increasing their waiting score, thus making the play-through the same every time. If it weren't for that one issue, this game would be as close to perfect as a game can be (can't please everyone y'know.)
Kain. 4/5
"Why are the coins random?" Have you looked at this game? EVERYTHING's random. Whether you make it to the end or not is based almost solely on luck. Luck is ok, but having it play such a BIG part of the game is a definite faux pas to some gamers. It doesn't bother me that much, but I don't think the upgrades pack enough power for how much everything costs. I wasn't even past the catapult upgrades when I wound up nearly reaching the end from lucky lands. The motion when in the air sometimes goes completely screwy though. I'll be using the wings to glide and I'll suddenly drop like a rock for no reason. The "bladder" deploys then disappears instantly for no reason some times. One time I even lost all forward momentum once I used the rocket. There're a lot of bugs in this game that should be worked out, but with a little polish this could be an epic launcher game. 3/5
