I beat it the hard way. I spammed all the upgrades until I got 99 hoping to unlock the final tier. Instead I get 1 free multi-beam weapon. Wasn't a bad deal tho, I froze time and did a point-blank spray to take out the giant megaboss.
Searched and searched. You get exca by winning lv 19 using the first weapon in the game. Well, I beat 20 by unlocking axia (lv99 shld/ener/atk) and doing things point-blank shotgun style (with a dash of time-freeze and abusing the free invincibility you get when you take damage)
I like the controls, very inovative... BUT!!! Needs more control regarding target selection. 1) changes target when ANYTHING is destroyed. It should stay on the initial target until it is destroyed or you manually change it. 2) can only target the nearest enemy, forces you to ram into them. This is why the multishot is useless since you'll end up shooting mostly walls than enemies. Also, the autotarget doesn't pick the closest target. Auto and manual should be more consistent. 3) projectiles could use a bit more color. I get confused wether the enemy is shooting at me or blowing up. The turret shells camoflage under my plasma fire. Also, I beat the game, but I still haven't unlocked excalibur or that card next to the full-health badge.
When there are loads of enemies on the screen... it's really ALOT better to fire in one direction constantly than to have Target Lock on just one of them and miss constantly (even with missiles). Swam missles that didn't 'swarm' is fail.
Took off all 3 force fields and the 200repairmen started working normally again. It seems having a force field is actually BAD for you. With the 3 max shields the fight ended with 200/600 of my health. Without the shields, the fight ended 595/600.
Hmm, I try to 'turtle' sandbox to test a defensive strategie using 3 max force fields and 200 repairmen on day 40. Health only goes up a few at a time. Either it's the forcefield or day40 norm is that hard.
Hmm, guess campaign on easy doesn't count. Is there a way to blow up the oil trucks without tapping them with the chainsaw? It seems to be invincible to area damage and gunmen.
Luck, skill, and more luck. Like jumping over a water barrel and missing your jump or hitting it and losing the speed needed to make the jump, a bit of a stretch. I leaped off a building and landed right ontop of a bomb. The mechs devastating the citing in the background's a nice touch.
