I really wish there were a "you are here" indicator on the map because half the time I have no idea where the hell I am. It wouldn't be THAT unrealistic - you'd probably have some idea of where you've gone in real life.
I want to like this game so much. Such an amazing premise, a huge game, truly different unit campaigns, this could almost level Kingdom Rush in awesomeness. But one thing, and one thing only, made this from an easy five stars and a spot as one of my favorite games on Kong and barely three stars: Unit Controls. Playing this game is hell with the terrible unit controls.
"Look, pal, you may be the only thing standing between humanity and its extinction, but I gotta eat. You're stuck with those crappy guns until you can cough up a few hundred thousand pounds of steel for a new gun."
By far the best tower defense game I've played on Kong (except Kingdom Rush, but nothing can top that for me). This is the kind of game where you could make a million more games in a series and it wouldn't be enough.
Story of the game: A soldier accidentally knocked over a box of grenades. Because these grenades were for some reason created to be extremely unstable, the building explodes. Using the power of logic, the general decides to fire his new weapon wildly into the air. This also explodes. And that is why we are using explosions to start chain reactions and destroy random buildings. Nothing wrong with that story!
Wait, so basically humans are enslaving sentient beings (remember, the AI can feel emotion) and when the beings try to rebel we control the humans? They aren't the good guys (at least, not who I rooted for)
No, you are not playing the good guys. You killed human. That's war, no good or bad, just who win and who lose.
(But in the end, you just shoot down 1 Human's big ferry, and let the 3 others escape. You spare their lives, so they can seek refuge on other planets. So you're still a little good.)
I didn't really enjoy this game at all, unlike everyone else it seems (from the comments anyway). It seemed really repetitive and boring, especially since i'm to soft-hearted to resist helping absolutely everyone who needs anything (and that takes too goddamn long). A really repetitive game I'd normally give 3 stars to, I just won't rate since everyone else loves it so much. Still, a bit hard to choke this down for my shiny Kongpanion.
A good idea is to create a "line"of turrets parallel to the direction of the path it is located on. The first turret should be against the nearest wall, and the rest should leave at lease enough space for a soldier behind them. Make it as long as you wish, but place a soldier closest to the first turret, so that he's pinned between the line of turrets and the wall. Make sure the last turret has enough space for zombies to walk through, and because of their desire to kill the soldier, they will walk around the wall, back the path and toward the soldier to kill him. All this time everythings shooting at them so its unlikely they will actually kill the soldier. Works against everything but shadows, bloaters, and the devastator because they are not effected by turret location. This greatly increases how long the zombies walk. works with sandbags instead of turrets but that's more risky.
It'd be an easy 5 ad my favorite game on kong if you'd still be able to control troops. It's just what made the first game unique and stand out. 4/5, and that's shaky.
Standards reaction when faced with something new: "I cannot wrap my mind around this! Destroy it! AAAAAAAHHHH!!!! NOW ITS EVERYWHERE! *explodes*" How did those squares live that long?
