You really need to put all the options close together. I decided to not follow that crazy person about 3 times before i realized you can actually go with sage.
If you keep trying to break, theres something at the bottom of the screen. trust me. The game keeps trying to tell you that you cant break, but its actually a sort-of conversation.

Then why do shopkeepers have giant piles of weapons to sell? you'd think a thousand years of peace would have the extremely peaceful animals stop manufacturing weapons like their lives depended on it.

A few tips: Don't try to save up for big, strong units in the beginning of each evolution. They'll get swamped, and you'll give the enemy a ton of Exp and money. Swarm small units, while saving slowly for the strongest turret. Then, let your turret (or turrets) take over and wait until you have enough money, and swarm them. Works on pretty much every evolution. make sure your turrets can take care of your base all on their own, or you might end up dead.
