The varying maneuverability depending on wing position is an interesting idea. Well done.
If you are going to use goofy missile controls, you should really put the instructions in the game. Better yet, don't use goofy missile controls. You call them IR and radar-guided missiles. Make them act like it. While you are at it, don't use rockets from Wing Commander, use rocket pods, those at least fit the style you are going for.
You created a game in which energy fighting could be viable, but the gun is so weak that it isn't. The endless circling gets old quickly. There should also be some way to tell if I am actually hitting the enemy planes.
Add tracer shells so it is easier to see where the gun is firing.
An option to reconfigure controls would be nice. I found "F" to be inconvenient to use while circling.
Don't make me sit through the little animation for your company after I return to the menu after reading the instructions. Particularly, if I have to read the instructions anyway to start the game.
Speaking of instructions, while it is nice to have a screen showing all the buildings and the critters they build, something indicating what makes them different would be nice.
Enemy ants are not aggressive enough. They mostly just sit there and wait for me to come kill them.
Serious bug: If I scroll the screen while a bug is firing, the shot moves with my scrolling. It is easy to make sure the enemy bugs rarely hit.
Once you get the Sticky Shield and Antimatter Shield, there is not challenge to the game. Just gets boring after that. Unfortunately, that comes very early in the game.
Not too bad, but quickly becomes monotonous. The "last x min" levels, in particular, are boring.
Movement control is a bit irritating.
Could use a lot more variety in player abilities and enemies.
The dual ships is an interesting idea. The game is otherwise far to simplistic, however. I am a little baffled as to why jellyfish are a threat to my submersible robot tank, though.
Needs to be more difficult toward the end. Not bad overall.
Cougar92, what about the US$ questions confused you? They didn't seem to require an intimate knowledge of US currency.
Not bad. It would be nice to have a "select all" button when choosing what to practice. Also, it should accept chi/ti, shi/si, tsu/tu, and probably fu/hu as those are equally valid for keyboard entry.
Overall, nicely done. The new articles with links to BBC are a nice touch.
It was a bit odd seeing German "super planes" in 1941, though. Also, it was strange to be reading articles about the Allies invading Italy and having the Battle of Britain still going strong.
As a final note, it looks like you spelled Tehran wrong in the Dec 1, 1943 headline.
