I can't stresthis enough...PLEASE...to all game developers...if you are going to make a game that requires both hands onthe keyboard, especially if you are goig to make short levels, then allow players to hit NEXT LEVEL WITHOUT THE MOUSE! IT is EXTREMELY annoying to have to keep swtiching back and forth between the keyboard and the mouse when it would be so easy to make the space or enter be Next.
It is OK. Shift to run is a very awkward combination with space for jump which ruins game play. And of course, the dreaded "Wall jump" that is overused in flash games and was never a god game element to start with. But some tweaks could make this pretty good
It was a nice enough game. Nothing great, but an OK time killer...but it ekpt freezing after the 5th mission. I'd finish it and it would tell me to hit Space to continue and nothing I did would bring me out of it. I reloaded it and it took me back to where I was the last time I reloaded, causing me to have to try again, and when I finsihed it, it would freeze again. Oh well.
This game COULD be so much better. But WAY too many bugs. Nothing worse than finally finishing a late level that I have been trying 20+ times only to have it get stuck in that level when I do, leaving me sitting there firing away at nothing and no way to even escape out other than to reload the page.
That and the one enemy that grabs you and empties your health extremely fast. It would be one thing if they were clearly distinguishable from other enemies...and didn't appear on the screen RIGHT on top of you giving you no warning whatsoever. But I can only take so many times of being within 10 enemies of the end of a level with most of my health left only to die instantly because I was gathering some phatches and one of those enemies appeared on top of me. Even worse when the screen is filled with other enemies and explosions. Makes it impossible to see that you are quickly dying.
Games like these get old really fast when, also like this one, there are WAYYYYYYY too many "stoppers." I don't know why anyone would think it is fun to have you aunch cut short about one every two times.
This probably seemed like a much better idea on paper than it actually turned out. Having to deal with pushing 7 keys, and memorizing the COLORS of those keys in some cases, (or else having to constantly look down at the keys) just doesn't work.
And on a side note...to all flash game designers...MAKE YOUR INTROS SKIPPABLE! You are not great storytellers. These are free flash games for crying out loud! No one CARES about some bad writing you came up with in 2 minutes as an afterthought. And it just pretty much guaratnees that no one will want to play your game a second time.
Another reason why level 4 is so bad...when games require a very specific way to beat a level, they haveNO replay value whatsoever. Since you really can't deviate from the one very specific way to defeat level 4 (which I haven't done) anyone dumb enough to play long enough to figure out that one strategy has no reason to play again to try a different one. Whereas if the level could be won in many different ways, it might be fun to try other methods, maybe purposely trying to last longer to kill more zombies rather than just try to win as fast as possible.
awful bit difficulty level jump from level 2 to level 3. Should have added a 5th level to make the increase more gradual. Shovelmen and farmers are virtually useless against the fat zombie and the crazy woman zombie, yet they come too fast to have anything else. And once hte fat zombie gets to your base, it takes 2 seconds to end your game.
I can't believe the comments about htis game getting boring around level 77. It got boring around level 40 at the latest. Does hte creator of this game REALLY expect someone to sit there for 2 hours before getting to the more powerful towers? Sorry, but no flash game is going to hold my interest for 2 hours, let alone the 2 hours, plus having some fun with the bigger towers.
