Needs a lot more to it to prevent if from getting old VERY fast. Too slow, not really enough obstacles. IT just becomes a game where you get your three available objectives during your run, and then kill yourself to get it over with so you can start on three new objectives. Not the worst launch upgrade game. But far from the best. Can't imagine many people will play it all the way through to get every objective in every world.
I have little patience for games whose developers completely ignore valid complaints about previous versions and instead, just create pretty much the exact same game for the sequel, complete with the same issues.
As with the first game, having the stars be something to pick up along the way means I have NO REAOSN to put myself in harm's way to try to kill enemies. It is just a game of avoid enemies and go for stars. not actually try to kill them. And while I have no intention of waiting my time on this one like I did on the first one, I suspect it will run into the same issue that if you are too upgraded toward the end, it will be IMPOSSIBLE to get 5 starts on boss levels because you kill them before all 5 stars come out.
There are lots of types of games that work well with mouse controls. This is clearly (and obviously) NOT one of them. There is just no way that the people who made this game played their own game and still thought that mouse controls worked well with this.
If you are going to do a basic tower defense game in 2016, you have to bring something new. And those something new things that you bring better IMPROVE the game play. Clicking on towers to increase critical chance is not one of those things that improves the game play. I also cannot STAND tutorials that force me to do what they want. First off, it is 2016. WE all know how to play tower defense games. Secondly...if I want to place the damn tower somewhere else, let me place the damn tower somewhere else. And finally...NOBODY likes games that force you to mouse over things to pick them up. So don't include it in your games!
Don't upgrade to much or you will never get all the stars on the boss levels. Terrible gameplay idea with the stars coming long like that even on boss levels. If you are going to have stars like that, then they should come based on how much health the boss has. Say, the first one comes when the boss is at 90%, the second one comes at 70%, then 50%, 30% and 10%. For the last two bosses, I purposely tried to avoid hitting the boss but just from moving to avoid being hit by everything else, I killed the box before the third start even came out.
There is definitely a balance issue. Some stages are tough to get even one star while a later stage is an easy 3 star stage. It seems like one strategy is just to buy multiple rocket abilities and just keep dropping them whenever they are available to slow down the tougher enemies.
I like the game but think the idea of keeping the clock going after a crash is stupid. And the reason why it doesn't make sense is that NO ONE is going to complete the level that way, where they are almost certain to get zero stars. So, since you know that 99.99999999% of players are going to Replay the whole level from the start with a new timer, make THAT the default.
Why the blatant cheating by your opponents at the start of the race? Was that really the best way they could figure out how to add difficulty to the game? Unfair difficult just makes players angry.
By far the weakest of the three games. WAY too grinding. Not nearly interesting/fun enough to justify the grinding. Memory hog. And just not worth it with other much better launch games, including the previous ones of this series. Yet ANOTHER example (in a VERY long list) of a game series being ruined because the developers are saying "screw you" to PC gamers and dumbing their games down for tablets
The perfect example of how tablets are ruining computers and the internet. AS game (and website) designers design for underpowered, poorly controllable tablets, sacrifices have to be made. Like fun game play.
I get that they are trying for the scary gloomy atmosphere..but the game is just too dark to see. So it isn't fun to play. Sure...it looks like a Zombie apocalypse...but one that isn't fun to play.
Just let me go to the shop and upgrade screens. Don't make me needlessly walk around to get to the place where I can press E. I just want to play the damn game. And walking around is not fun. And then the bats come so early and they pretty much take skill out of the game, and turn it into a grind. The only problem is, the gameplay is not NEARLY fun enough to want to grind.
I don't know why they still insist on the annoying studio/developer screen for their games. It is the surest way to guarantee no one will play it except at home, and many won't play it at all. Then again, I also don't know why anyone still thinks that mouse controls for a game like this are the way to go.
WASD and CTRL for controls may work in a standalone game. But not in a browser based game. It is actually baffling that no one associated with making this game gave any thought to the fact that players might occasionally press CTRL and then W...thus closing their browser.
It's a PC-only game for starters, and the pace was slowed down by popular demand.
