I can see, from the very start, that this game has potential to be great. The first thing that would need to change, though, would be the red-screen effect. Without a clear screen, the gameplay suffers, because you can't see things as clearly as you regularly could. Ammo system needs to be reworked - When you have to stick to your main gun as often as this game forces you to, there's really no point in other weapons, aside from a quick power boost in critical moments. Even then, you've only got enough ammo for 5-6 clean kills, then it's straight back to the Automatic. A mute button, or a way to scale the music down, would also be appreciated. Overall, the execution was good, but it could use some major tweaking. 3/5.
After trying about five times to get past the tutorial, I managed to do everything exactly as the game said, without screwing up for the sixth time. However, after the first few rounds, I can truthfully say that this is one of the worst shooters I've ever seen of this sort. The spinning is annoying to deal with, especially when things are coming at you from all sides. The inability for plasma shields to actually kill anything, by reflecting bullets or even pushing enemies off of the side of the map, ruins the entire point of having two equipped at once. The "GET READY" bit after you switch weapons needs to be scrapped entirely, as it makes switching weapons take about as long as refreshing and re-opening the game. Overall, the concept is decent, but the execution was poor, at best. 2/5 - Definitely something that I won't be coming back to.
I didn't even need to play the game to realize what it was - I've played enough games of this type to realize that this is nothing new. However, until I read the comments, I thought that it was actually a distinguished, serious game, for serious players. Since it's basically a sex-sell, literally, it's not even worth my time to try it out. If I wanted to look at something of this sort in my spare time, I wouldn't be on Kongregate. This truly isn't a place for it. I'll skip a rating on this, and find a decent game to play that doesn't insist on using sexual references at every single turn. You truly disgust me.
By the game's image on the "Hot New Games" list, I figured that it would be a complete failure from the start. Only after enduring five levels, which took absolutely no skill at all to complete, did I realize that I was correct. The graphics look like they were either rushed or done by an amateur, and the gameplay looks like a basic physics engine cooked up in about ten minutes. Aside from that, it's basically another half-bit zombie game, with a plastic bazooka taped to the side. From Arcadebomb, I would truly expect a bit more than this. 1/5, for what appears to be no real effort in the making of the game.
I enjoyed it. The dynamic lighting made me a bit jumpy when the fire went out against the last two bosses, and I stuck to the flamethrower like a Pyro after that. The concept is a bit overdone, but the way everything's presented, it's still good. The upgrades system wasn't as much to my tastes as I thought it would be - It felt more like the Boxhead games than a zombie game. An auto-reload feature would be appreciated, especially when you're going up against an entire hoarde of zombies, in the dark, and your shotgun just ran out of ammo. Overall, this is a great game, but it felt a bit short to me. 4/5, great work.
To put it simply, I hate this game, and everything about it. Game demos do not belong on a site for full games - It's like putting the bread of a cupcake on a plate, but saying "No frosting for you". It just isn't right. The Facebook and King.com logos made me sick by just looking at them, and the game gets so repetitive, that I would rather watch ice melt than play this game. Overall, I think I'll skip the rating on this one - Even giving it a 1/5 is too much credit. That's an entire 20% of the possible full outcome, which is far too high for this game.
Joy - An advertisement-demo of a game on another site. For a minute, I actually thought that this was the real thing, or an early prequel for something. However, serious respect was lost when the "Play the full game!" screen showed up at the end of the final level. Overall, though, this is a great game. Rather than a set course, where you can pretty much just spam a fast tower to destroy everything, this game requires some level of skill to be good at. I, personally, spent hours doing this game, finding the good strategies and methods to complete the levels. The graphics are good, but not exactly the best. Concept is great, very original. I didn't run into any glitches, either, which was a good sign. However, due to the entire game basically being a demo of the full game, I'll give it a 2/5. I hate it when people try this stunt, really.
So, it's basically another generic TD, without any redeeming features. Graphics are only slightly above some of the others I've seen, but are still nothing to get excited about. Gameplay is actually worse than a lot of the things I've experienced in the TD game type. The towers, as others have mentioned, miss far too often, and it makes it more annoying than most other TDs. I greatly disliked the combination of the Upgrade and Level Up system, since it brought more frustration than innovative gameplay - Choose one or the other, not both. It gets too complicated when two different systems like that are packed into one small area. Overall, this is very basic, no real "unique" features, which the description suggests, and I'll give it a 3/5 for effort.
I actually liked this game - The concept is original, gameplay is solid, I never encountered glitches, and the story base is actually interesting. The graphics are something that I also enjoyed - The colors aren't too bright, but at the same time, they still catch the gamer's attention, all while still showing just enough to tell what's going on. The variety of ships to infect could have been a lot bigger, as with the game in general. This game definitely has potential - If you choose to make a sequel, I would suggest making it bigger. On that note, I still loved the way that everything was laid out. Although you go into combat pretty quickly, there isn't much to it, and you can take down everything pretty easily. The only thing that I would change about this game would be the speed in which some ships move. That goes for missiles, too. Overall, this is a great game. 5/5 - Great work.
In the first five seconds that I realized that the AI had the advantage, by being able to skip over things such as ramps or tight turns, I decided that it simply wasn't worth it to continue. Racing games are never my main interest - The only reason I even tried this one was to check out the upgrades. However, even past that, I know that when an AI has the ability to cheat like this, quite possibly without intention by the developer, it's not worth trying to compete against. Upgrades system is also a failure, in my mind. Using achievements to upgrade vehicles is something that should count as a bonus upgrade - Not a main one. Graphics are average, and the controls are seemingly dulled. Truly, this is the worst racer I've ever played. 3/5, for effort, though.
Zworp, while I can't say that I'm alright, at all, with your decision to make the game primarily Candystand Exclusive, I still enjoy the game. The Candystand v. Kong war is reaching dangerous levels, and it's high-time that I pack up and wish you the best of luck on it. The game, overall, is very good. New environments, great weapons, an aiming system that requires skill, and everything else. Customizable tanks are something that I may come back to check out some time, but since most are going to be CS-exclusive, I highly doubt that will be soon. Overall, it's been a good run, but one bad decision cost this game a lot of the respect I had for it. Best of luck with the new players, and good luck with the ban system. 4/5 - For a great game.
It's about time this hit Kongregate. I've seen this many times on G4, and I've wanted to try it out for a while. Overall, at first, the controls are a bit confusing - I'm more used to using the space button for jumping than other things, so I kept switching to tile-moving, rather than jumping onto other platforms. However, once you get the controls down, this is a great game. The concept of moving the parts of the map around to progress through them is very original, and it allows for much more innovative gameplay. Overall, this is a very simple, yet somewhat challenging game. Because this game is not only original, but also requires more than the generic Jump-and-Run gameplay that most platformers are based on, I'll give it a 4/5. Great work.
Multiverse, you never cease to screw up good concepts. Seeing as this is still in Open Beta, you should have plenty of time to find ways to cut down the animation lag that most people, myself included, are experiencing. The way it's set up now, the animations alone cause more lag than the server load does. The skills system is, like the last game, not as appealing as even the general gameplay is. PVP is completely out of balance, and if this game is anything like the last one, it will never be kicked back into balance. PvE is one of the only appealing parts of this game, since the animation lag is actually bearable there. Overall, this is a game that I won't mind never coming back to. If the key issues are fixed, I may give it a shot, but until then, it's basically another decent concept which was poorly executed. Thanks, Multiverse.
Well, I was avoiding it as much as possible, but since it has badges, I feel that it's time to speak. For something this basic, without any redeeming qualities or innovative ideas, I simply can't stop playing. The gameplay is on par with the other TD games. No more, no less. Graphics aren't exactly the best, but I've seen worse. Upgrades and achievement system are somewhat basic, but I've seen much worse. MUCH worse. Overall, so that I can leave it alone, I'll give it a 3/5. For one of the most basic games I've seen in months.
Let me start off by saying that, although it's a very basic concept, I still like it. However, for a game that has been executed as poorly as this one, even the most basic concept for a game has been put to shame. Overall, I was amazed that there wasn't a "beta" tag attached somewhere to this. The graphics are a major turn-off here. Although they may seem good in the menu and such, the in-game graphics look like something that was taken off of an NES game in mid-development. Movement controls are shakey, from what I've seen, and there's not much of a community to support the game at all. Developer support had been cut off since the new game's beta launched, which I sincerely hope is a lot better than this one. Overall, because it looks like this was made up in about two week's time, I can only give it a 2/5. Good luck with the next game.
Since I've started playing games here on Kongregate, I have rarely ever gone back to a game multiple times in attempts to finish a campaign mode. Most commonly, I would simply shove off the campaign entirely for badges or the like, or simply stop half-way with a general knowing of how the game would end. This game was different, somehow. I found myself coming back multiple times, re-running the same level for cash, without getting very easily bored. It seems like every single mission is unique, and they are. The overall concept doesn't exactly feel original, but it is looked past in this game for stellar gameplay. The skills system, paired with the shop upgrades, make great a great combo. I look forward to coming back again soon to finish the main levels. 5/5, great work.
As others have said, with a few minor changes, this could easily make a great multiplayer game. Add in a timer, tighter turns, and it would work almost flawlessly. A range to see how much of an arc your guns have to fire in is something that would help. Options to buy different styles of planes would be a nice reward for completing levels with full stars, and possibly stronger guns for the later levels. The base behind this game is very original, as is the gameplay. Overall, this is a very good game. As such, I'll give it a 4/5. Great work.
Parody games never end well. This is no exception. The artwork, although original, wasn't to my tastes. Controls were horrible, and it was rather tedious to attempt to make some things work. I didn't enjoy having to switch back and forth through my inventory and the game screen, and having the controls shut off while viewing the inventory was annoying, at best. Overall, I didn't like the game. At all. However, for slight originality, I'll give it a 2/5.
I began playing this a few minutes ago, expecting nothing more than a worthless joke of a game. After the first two games, which I carelessly failed without much effort, I was starting to get a bit annoyed. I cleared my data, and started over. Since that point, I haven't lost a case yet, in a ten-game win streak. The ability to mark suspects as innocent is very useful, as is the ability to mark tiles. Overall, I like the concept. Not as original, but it works for this game. Gameplay is solid, very un-bugged. "The clue indicates that Linnox gives this game a 4/5.", is the last clue I'll enjoy for the night. Great work.
After playing for a few minutes in Level One, obviously, I decided to take a look at the more detailed features before putting the game down entirely. The achievements feature is the only redeeming feature of this game, as everything else has been done already. Gameplay is very basic, and very easy to master. Graphics are decent for this sort of game, at best. The concept simply isn't there, so I can't take a look at that. As I said, this is a very unoriginal game. At most, I can only give this a 3/5, since there was only one key feature that was even slightly original.
