Ah, almost forgot about this game. This was one of the ones that I hated so much I never wanted to come back to, but I'll give it a shot -- in the head. To start off, the energy part of the game only limits every action you can make. This is something that turns about 60% of the people that attempt this game away. The "wise"man needs to be fixed. Immediately. Some of the graphics could also be a lot better, as they don't seem to fit in with the rest of the graphics. And finally, ditch the premium item stuff. About 95% of the people who would stick to this game probably don't even look at this feature, let alone use it regularly. This game gets a 2/5 for serious issues. And I do realize this is a beta, so I'll come back in the full release to re-evaluate the game. I sincerely hope that it will be better.
All I can say is that, in my oh-so-humble opinion, simply mixing in the sniper element to a base defense game doesn't make a good base for the rest of the game. Even though you can kill almost anything in a couple of hits, you still get killed off pretty quickly if you aren't constantly keeping the entry like under cover. Outside of those two issues, though, it's a decent game. The ability to throw out land mines over small areas would've saved me a lot of times. The longer design of the level was a bit strange at first, but it made the game last longer. The EXP system is something I liked, since the turrets can gain EXP for me also by shooting those who slip past the front line. Overall, I'll give this a 4/5. Good luck on the weekly board.
While it is a decent game, pretty much every bit of it has been done before. The level design was average, at best. The Machine Guns made everything too easy. I only had to place out about five of them to win every round. It was hard to find places to put them sometimes, however, as your own troops aren't marked on the pause map. Overall, I'll give this a 3/5. It's not bad, but it's not good, either.
While I would like to write up a storm about how bad I think this game is, I didn't get past the second level. In light of this, the only feedback I can give is that it could've been a -lot- better.
For a long time now, I've loved these types of games. This one was a bit different, however, from the main concept which most others go by. I'll start by saying that I loved the various powerups here, as well as the face that you could destroy the enemies with them. Creating a distinct target was also a nice idea. However, this game has some key flaws which prevent me from giving it a perfect score. While the target was a good addition in my opinion, it made the game far too easy. Simply building up the field around it made almost every level a walk in the park. Allowing the creatures to destroy you on lines was also something I didn't like here, as I was never able to stop and think about my next move. Overall, I love the game type and unique concept behind this one, and I'd love to give it a perfect score. However, I can only give it a 4/5 until the main flaws are fixed. Keep up the good work!
In my opinion, it takes far too long to actually get to the fight. If you're not trying to make every action go through correctly by racing through your mouse and keyboard constantly, you're chasing down cowardly enemies who seem to keep falling back after you get one hit on them. I'll give it a 3/5, simply because it's an original concept and I liked the cutscene that I bothered to watch.
I've seen neither hide nor tail of mass lag, which is what the comment area here seems to be stuck on. I only had minimal lag due to my virus scanner being active, but none from the game itself. 3/5 is my rating, one star off for getting stuck easily and another for level design being, at best, less than decent.
It was all fun until the Kraken level. With two twisters, two city shields, two swamps, a kraken, a hawk, and to top it all off, a fissure, it lagged so much the window almost closed. I'll give it a 3/5.
With the lack of additional troops, I won't give this game anywhere above a 3/5. No save feature, the second-highest gun is horrible, and upgrades to the house are seriously needed. More sandbags, land mines scattered around the field, anything would be nice. However, until this game either gets a serious upgrade or a complete re-do, I'm hesitant to give this game a good rating. However, aside from those key issues, this is a great game. Nice graphics, good concept, and affordable guns. Make the levels larger, add some more enemies, and this could be a game I come back to later.
If you're going to let the player control miners, at least add an auto-mine option. I hate having to spam-press space to fill my bag up when I should be able to just hold it down.
Make it a marker, rather than a pencil. I hate having to rush over to enemies that are right on top of each other because the hitbox is so small. Also to those with hand cramps, get a better mousepad, or a stationary mouse. Or just use turrets and forget the pencil completely.
Pointless console wars are pointless. Should be removed from this game's comment box, and from the internet in general. But, we must take baby steps for things like this, so let's just start with the comment box.
