I knocked a ninja off a platform and he landed on his head wedged in a corner with his legs spread. So I'm now bombarding his testicles with cannon balls. 40 so far, and he's still not dead. As amusing as that is, the game is buggy, unoriginal, and there are way too many levels for how much fun they aren't to play.
Needs the ability to rotate and angle the camera. Odd that meteors heal the ground better than the ground healing ability does. Could use upgrades, or story, or a progression from world to world as you successfully cleanse places. Right now it's just a proof on concept. It's a successfull proof, and it accomplishes what it sets out to do. But proof of concept is not quite a game. This can definitely work. Just make it into a game now.
Is the hard badge really intended to be 30K score in a single game, or is that a mistake? I've beat the game several times now, and my TOTAL score is barely more than that.
The story is amusing, but I seem to be stuck. I have my gun now, I'm in the room with the nazis, and I've killed on the ones I can reach. The planes are too high, and I can't leave the room. So I'm just jumping around, firing at the walls until my ammo reaches zero...nothing happens and no obvious way to continue.
@Jantonaitis: I agree that the focus on all the new races seems especially odd since it looks like you'd have to play through the the original game twice PLUS this one four times in order to unlock them all. Given the grindiness of the game, it's unlikely that many players will play more than one race. It seems odd to emphasize something that 90% of players will only ever use a quarter of. Plus, honestly, how many players are really going to want to play an orc? Vampire seems ok, but is it likely to interest players who played as an ascended one? The race choices announced for 3 are kind of strange.
Nuclear blast just made them stronger, but the snipers on the watchtower can neutralize them? ...k. Also, why am I fighting helicopters and fighter jets? The aliens don't appear to have any. Are these defense forces assigned to defend the containment zone? If so, why are they shooting at me?
@Globalwrath: There's not much to buy in the early game either. Other than bags gold doesn't seem to serve much purpose at all in this one except to pay for expedition costs. But that's just one tiny item on a long list of complaints. Arkandian Crusade was a much better game all around.
@Tomatoman: No, 2d6 means roll two six sided dice and add the result. Not 2 to 6, but 2 to 12. 3d6 would be 3 to 18. 1d10 would be 1 to 10. 10d1 would be 10.
Tactical battles are unacceptably slow. I've tried changing to low quality and it doesn't seem to change much. It looks like it's intended to play at that speed, and the seconds spent waiting for little numbers and graphics to float quickly add up to the majority of the battle me sitting waiting to be able to play. Speed this up please.
Wow. There's a *huge* difference in character power required to get to the end of the game and power required to beat it. I'm at the very last boss, and in the time it took him to kill me I only took him down from 400 to 375 health.
Played one more, got lucky and beat the octopuss boss. Apparently winning awards no upgrade points at all, and simply unlocks a third pet that's unremarkable, and doesn't appear anywhere else. *shrug* Cute game, but it's like the people who made it didn't even care.
Pretty much cruised through the game until the octopos, but now I've lost more battles in a row against him than I have against everyone else in the entire game up to this point. Don't feel much incentive to keep at it until I get the lucky win it seems to need. Like the game, but it needs rebalancing.
This is actually very convenient, but the interface could really be cleaned up. In particular I'd like to see mouseover texts for the badge icons and the ability to filter earned/unearned badges by difficulty type. As is, we can get a list of all unearned badges, or we can get a random impossible badge, but I'd like to be able to get a list of all earned or unearned impossible badges, for example.
Try firing your gun downwards :)
