I've tried a few different [and knowledgeable] strategies on the last wave, and ONE killed the thing: start on level 49 and make nothing but optimized clusters of pea-shooters. Yes: air-typed, +50% boosted on a frozen target. I considered going back to see if passwords give as much cash as otherwise but at this point, why. But thanks for trying, it was fun til i realized it was too simple. I was glad the freeze towers weren't stupid too, until I realized I WANTED them to be dumb and shoot the first thing in line... Oh well.
[Wish I knew who this "Zaroff" was but I agree with masterchief99, whose good comment I've just scrolled to the next page.] So this is the roots of Thing-Thing... I feel cultured. Finally got an "All-Time" high score too, wonder how long that will last [hah]! Nice game, classic, kinda fun, no complaints. If the Derringer didn't auto-equip itself this game would be difficulty-free. [TIP: tap F five times to get back to the super-shotgun after you've unloaded the D-bomb. If you're low on shotgun ammo, five more F-s will take you to the good magnum. Five again, if you have no Derringer, to get back to the big shotgun if you need to clear a space under you before you run outta jump energy.]
What in the name of all that's holy am i supposed to do with an "undefined" letter?! I can't deselect it! ... I want to pull this game from my favorites now, but I think instead I'll wait and see if we can get some bugfixes. What will it take? I have a couple dollars. Talk to me.
Insane: Is too an autosave. :P It's a toggle option still, I hope... About skills: They're all effective. You'll probably need at least one rapid-fire ability, some strong attacks, and some support abilities [try Vampire Bite on groups ;X]. ConnorAvocado: thanks for paying attention to your game after submitting it! BTW, I like the art, function trumps appearance every day of the week anyhow. Thanks for looking into the "keys getting jammed bug," I haven't had that problem last time I played [last version]. Keep it up!
There's nothing wrong with the difficulty. However, it's a pain to crack open those first scorpions if you haven't invested in Lightning Bolts.
Survivors: There are ample methods of guiding them to safety [which is anywhere behind YOU, which is why you don't move, I assume. Evil characters don't move, um, cuz they don't feel like it and will torch anyone who says they should]. The ability that increases survivor hitpoints is thankfully not a joke.
Few abilities in this game ARE jokes -- I've found uses and creative combos for all or almost all -- so it's a 4/5 from me, and I suspect I might regret not fiving it. Thanks for the game, Connor.
Fived. Because it deserves a better rating than it has recieved -- but I'd give it four and a half if I could. This game has a lot of ownage, but it is reliant on realism to uphold its [excellent] atmosphere -- and that realism is violently suffocated when a soldier dies with a B.A.R., and the guy next to him wielding a pistol does NOT pick it up.
I just beat a bunch of Spartanians to death with a shield, because they were in the corner and couldn't run. Now I'm standing with my back to them and they can't hit me as I write this comment. I enjoyed this more than Epic War 2.
Very good when very mad. Great action timings. I liked the sounds but they got old [and drowned out the music pretty much entirely]. 4/5, style above all. GETADRENALINEBREAKSTUFF! [Intriguing story too, btw.]
Is Call of Duty 4 a tile-based 2D turn-based strategy game? Anyway, yeah, the guns are based on real models from what little I know, many games do that, and few have such variety.
Awesome work, badges please [they might get the series some recognition]!
For the game itself, perfect five, moar, all that awesome rot. Anyone having the LOST SAVES BUG: try Firefox. Fixed for me! I'm proud to say the story is not too hard to complete without saving [I was using Opera browser] if you are incredibly careful and diligent. Can we not have bad ratings for a bug please...? :P
I'm loving it, this has earned a place in my favorites. It reminds me of Fallout2, but even MORE underground. I haven't gotten far yet but I'm sure I will in time -- I just wanted to say, robbing robbers has been good for a START, but trading still seems essential [after my tiny mule-and-wood caravan was grenaded into oblivion by 20 guys on ATVs -- and I thought I was OVER-prepared]. This game needs a Kongregate achievement re-thinking BTW; the one "medium" badge is accomplished after whacking a couple bikini swordswomen. :P [lol]
