Needs HELP. Badly. What are "Chain Matches?" I start with thingies in the corner -- I found out a little bit ago that I can click them for an easy win. Bonuses are good to collect, but why are some huge hard-to-plan sections I've removed utterly worthless? Please please blah blah etc., I'm hooked. Backtogame.
I really like this game. I like the art, the music, the style, the story, the interface, the ever-present hotkey options, the autofire [WHAT!YES!]... But please, for the love of all that's good about Flash gaming, please do fix it. I think someone might have forgot to carry the one somewhere in tweaking the difficulty; it was like kicking over anthills. Enemies did not upgrade anything, ever -- and Carriers, uh..... I put eight maxed-stats carriers up against some junk, seriously lousy stuff, that the AI threw at me -- eight Carriers LOST. No joke, no interference from base fire either, I meant to test it and... Yikes. Anyway aside from difficulty, all this could really use is some variation on the upgrade paths [like: less limits, more techs, maybe one-way-only tech tree paths] might round this out and make it personalizable. I'm looking forward to replaying this one, and hopefully fiving it then. Thanks for a good game.
Alternate RQ strategy: Use the Sprint! Sprint and Reactive Armor I guess, since the armor makes some of her attacks stun you instead of kill/maim. The hard part for me was finding a RED Queen after logging the RQ in my bestiary. :( This's still the best flash game out there... I long for a sequel. :(
Dev: Good game, I had fun. EMPHASIS: Very simple and easy. :( Powerups are glitchy, VERY glitchy by what I'm reading here. Best: Fitting high-energy music, very good there. Worst: No autofire means we get a badge. Uh, yay...? 3/5, thanks for game. Now, Reviewers -- nine-tenths of you -- name ONE thing this game has in common with Amorphous+ -- other than the similar player/enemy color code and in-game achievements feature. I'm glad you all love everything in the world to death, but please make SOME attempt to exercise discretion, because critical people nearby you may think that you're making them look stupid.
Wow, Mastermind really was that good... Despite all the bugs and the jagged rough spots and the pampered cloud on which you float through the game.
It has a save feature? ...Was it intended to be to needed?
By the end, I had millions of accidental bucks. I kept all four regions bristling with hostility towards me in hopes the Global Thingies would pile up and it would gradually become challenging. I did manage to find difficulty; MAKING my henchmen die in battle, since they cannot be dismissed, and I wanted to try them all... [I love I.V. Love. Butterflies and rainbows and heart-shaped blood-splatters. Is I.V. an original to this game?] Anyway 5/5, but why do all the best games -- other than Amorphous+ -- stop short and fall on their faces just when they seem to be an arm's length from mythical excellence? It makes me sad.
Another Mardek comment from me... The savegames bug is probably still a problem for me [I don't think it's Pseudo's fault -- try to fix your flash, use another browser, or do what I did], but I enjoyed the challenge of having to be careful! You can level up quick and easy in ANY battle... The best place to level might be the forest on the way to the crash site. ;X Whisper me if you can't save and need help. I love this game, chapter one is also just as excellent [per minute of gameplay], for anyone who doesn't know. I hope Mardek 3 comes out soon! [Um, but only after it is totally awesome.]
Best premise ever.. Maybe... This game destroys computer performance, memory leak or what, I dunno, but it bleeds like a stuck pig. Needs a pause button OR a fix for that, i'm not spending a solid hour to get the 10K points badge.
Seen level 20 thus far... KINDA DIFFICULT, TEE-HEE!? º¬º Save function would be a waste of a good challenge! Just switch Unholy Bless to be a bit more random; the orb ALWAYS goes where you least want it after UB triggers [backward]. This is worst when you're down to a few blocks in a corner, but it makes many levels abysally implausible if you pump UB up thinking it will continue to be a good skill. Other skills are pathetically underpowered in comparision but they lack excruciating regrettable drawbacks -- shadow orb damage is negligible, and that's the only alternative I can see to Bombing runs -- a third skill [even something as simple as upgradable orb speed would fix that]. I'd spend plenty of skill points to change the Soul Orb's color too. :P Still I haven't enjoyed a game like this since the ColourPods. 5'd
What's with the fives? I'm only on stage three and I'm giving up on this badge. Utterly. Like I'd rather collect Meat Boy Band-Aids utterly. There's no AI to speak of [yet] and my only tactic for trying to level the playing field against the "space invaders" gameplay is attempting to make the scurvy sods shoot each other.
Great concept, I thought I was going to wind up faveing this game, but not even close...
It's great, it's fun, it's fived and faved, but WHY am I being attacked by FOUR dimensionpods?! It negates the purpose of the "you CAN use continues..." win-the-game award. Is this a bug?
"Full Harmony, 2000 pts, 16 tiles, 1 red bomb, etc..." -- Not easy on level one at all. I love this game, but this comment box is getting real stinky from all the "1/5 too hard" wah!-wah!-ing. Yeah, it's a long game and it isn't easy, but the fear and frustration is there to spur you along. It does not need to be lamed into a coma like nine-tenths of the other stuff on here. [I'll admit I DO get mad when I lag-mis-click the wrong tile with an ability and go back to level one.]
Cute. Fight 66, maxed out whatever. Agility breaks them all. 2k brutals, 5k charges, no missing or getting hit allowed. 3/5. This is not a copy of Swords and Sandals! That game had strategy, which is why someone might have paid $20 for it. I'll pass.
I enjoyed this. I don't say that lightly, 9 out of 10 puzzle games break my patience in minutes. 5/5; I can't find ANYthing wrong with it. :P Nice music choices!
I like it, and I hate most of the people commenting here. So five stars for that, because I'm also in a bad mood. However the game is unplayable, please refine it.
I got the extra-credit badges a day or two ago. Fun stuff. Whisper me if you REALLY want the badges but can't leave your comp on for a long time, I might be able to speed things up greatly for you. Now to those giving the game a bad rating: you're either not an RPG person, or you don't know the SOURCE of the problem. From Pseudo's comments:
"Nov. 10, 2008
The save bugs came up with the release of Flash Player 10, a month ago at most. Saving worked fine before Flash Player decided to change how something it does works, but I have no idea WHY the saves aren't working, and it's more annoying for me than it is for any players, surely... I could repeat this like a million times though and people still wouldn't understand... MARDEK 3, when it's released (which should be soon), will include the first two chapters though and will have a working save system, so it might be best just to wait for that to come out."
Keep this alive...?
