Two really annoying things with the flying/jumping.
1.) You accelerate off of the ground faster by jumping than by flying, but you don't have a choice with either because that decision is made solely by whether you have fuel or not.
2.) What is the point of fuel in the first place? Besides the obvious, force the player in a noob state for the longest time until they can purchase all of the upgrades to fly the entire run, but no one checks their fuel bar and when we run out of fuel, it's always in the most inconvenient time. I would almost rather never have fuel and be forced to jump the whole time than to be on a roll by doing so well and then suddenly my guy plummets to the ground to get hit by some monster, I have to regain control of the ground area, avoid enemy fire, try to jump to avoid some enemy/fire only to find that I can now fly but the lift-off is so slow that I get hit again.
There should be an achievement for how many times a player has reset the game, made it to the end by destroying the home world 1,000s of times just to start over again. I might be in the lead on that one so far, lol.
Wait, so I can upgrade my towers from the front page, but then I need to upgrade them IN the game to achieve their upgrade status AND push money back into them since they degenerate? This game could have been so good...seriously.
The last level is ridiculous when a swarm of enemies are on the map. The lag goes through the roof even though it may not seem like it. Nothing quite like barrel rolling when the boss uses those ranged mine attacks but your guy swings his sword two extra times before rolling.
So, there are shops set up a few feet away from a box with an endless supply of cash? They could have retired early as millionaires, but instead they decide to wait and let some poor shmoe...err...hero do it for them? That's just lazy.
Two major flaws that I see with this game: 1.) The game requires direct focus from the browser to be in play. Switching tabs, multi-tasking or closing the browser will not keep the game in play. 2.) The game doesn't track mower position when you have to refresh the game.
The most beautiful thing happened when I took a non-upgraded brickout board, fully upgraded the speed of the paddle, the amount of animals, and the rate of fire. It was like one of those epic boss bullet games, but with animals.
I hate to break it to all of you (even myself). There's absolutely no way anyone can make it to hellstone 2237 without massive hacks. Even with the simple change date on your computer cheat, it would still take at least 1 octillion years to get remotely close to it.
Remember when you first started, how you were buying upgrades left and right every few seconds? Remember how after just a minute or two you could literally go from not being able to purchase a single upgrade to having your choice of any upgrade. You were counting down the seconds and clicking as fast as you could just to get that next upgrade or hoping to create a new pick. NOW, it's been about 3 weeks or more and you come to realization that it takes about a full day just to upgrade your base pick power ONE time...this is definitely an idle game, one in which no one will ever live long enough to reach that final hellstone unless you cheat.
Levels 3-6 were the easiest as opposed to level 1 and 2 because there were more platforms to jump on. Additionally, making a platforms 7-10 pixels wide is an awful idea. I'm okay with the left and right movement and am glad you don't ding someone for consistently falling to the ground, but trying to land a super tiny character on a super tiny platform while the platform is moving at a fast speed is awful awful awful. 2/5
n00b_guy is right, I got the badge after 17 days in the challenge mode. I had the hardest time getting past the boxes at the end, and once I did, I got the badge. I'm glad I didn't have to keep repeating the 3 day challenge all because I was stuck on the boxes at the end.
One suggestion, spending talent points should be an option during a level instead of a requirement. This way the user isn't forced to upgrade a talent point and then move the cursor far away from the battle field to close out the menu. For instance, on World 6, I leveled up when I was being rushed by the bombers, that split second to refocus my mouse cost me the game as two guys made it by and destroyed my tower.
Worst game controls ever. Even at the very least, creating hotkeys or shortcuts would have improved this game a lot. Instead, it's a lot of persistence and frustration considering the computer starts with more drones and can multi control each one to do a specific task whereas we have very limited control and are forced to work with one large group instead of several small groups because we cannot easily move the screen around and we cannot create simple tasks for each drone to do.
Did the creator modify the blacksmith's pick quality recently? I was able to craft a 3000% pick about a week ago, I was able to upgrade the base power 10-11 times and I went through about 70,000 gems and haven't been able to craft another pick. I've used between 1 gem and 133 gems at a time, the last one I tried crafting about 800 times with 1 gem and couldn't even break 1,000%.
Protip for max upgrades. Get rid of all enemies that shoot and leave 2 (or 1, if there aren't 2) blimps that spawn the fighter jets. DO NOT SHOOT THE BLIMPS!!!! Keep destroying the fighter jets for $50 a jet and don't worry about any damage as the jets hardly damage you.
For anyone curious, here are some numbers: 1.) To double (2x) your base power, you'll need to upgrade the blacksmith 12 times. For 10x your base power, you'll need to upgrade the blacksmith 40 times. 2.) The cost per upgrade of the blacksmith is a 20% increase of the current cost; whereas your base power increases 6% for every upgrade.
I made a jsFiddle which shows a list of your current stats and how long it would take to upgrade your base power to your desired base power; maybe if this gets enough responses/likes then I'll post it. It tells you how long it would take if you are not crafting new picks while upgrading your base power as well as how long it would take if you DO craft new picks while upgrading your base power.
What is up with the auto enemy targeting? Instead of targeting the enemy that is a mere inches away from my sub, it targets one that just barely made itself visible on screen.
That's exactly what I was going on. Glad I hit the mark with you. Thanks for playing.
