Psychotic is ridiculous in that the word is blurry all the way until they stop and start shooting you. I'm super fast at typing, but I can't type what I can't see.
Only one the 4th time where 3 enemy's words overlapped each other did I realize that the word you are typing shows up at the very bottom. Nothing quite like mashing all of the keys to finish out the word.
This most definitely looks like a game that was made by an engineer/coder. By that, I mean that it has all of the functionality, but the user interface is really, REALLY awful. For instance, when I tried to delete my progress and start over, it said that the code was copied to my clipboard and I needed to use notepad to paste the code in, then type the code into the input field. That's something you do during development and long before pushing the code out to the public.
Protip to make this game super easy. Whenever you get 2 crystals, craft the common/uncommon item and stop the roulette on whatever item. Keep doing this whenever you get two crystals and the items go from lousy to uber-epic after a short amount of times. After doing this about 7ish times, I went from barely doing any damage to the regular enemies on the screen to clearing a boss in about 3 seconds after it showed up.
There should be some sort of special bonus for completing a challenge without taking any damage, neither the hero nor ship. I just did it on a challenge that just popped up, and was a little disappointed to see that nothing came of it.
Cid's upgrades are pretty awful on a whole. Probably the first 2 or 3 are worth it, but the instant the user purchases the "Lacquer" upgrade from Treebeast, the upgrades and level ups do almost nothing on Cid.
Now if there was at least one Skill, DPS, Gold, Critical Hit Chance or Critical Hit Damage Multiplier upgrade in Cid's list of upgrades, that would be different. But once you get the first upgrade of click damage increased by 0.5% of DPS, then Cid's level ups and upgrades are useless.
King Midas' gold upgrades should work the same way as the other heroes' DPS upgrade in that they should be cumulative. For instance, with the DPS, if my hero has several DPS upgrades and is attacking at 30,000B DPS and I immediately purchase a 100% DPS increase, he/she starts hitting at 60,000B DPS. With King Midas, I was retrieving 32B gold per coin, I had 4 of the 25% gold increases and I purchased a 50% increase. With the increase, I only saw the gold go to a little over 37B instead of the 48B gold I expected.
I love how the developer kept the player in mind with the low level heroes. By the 4th upgrade on one hero, people usually purchase the next hero and don't bother with the lower heroes anymore since they're rate of income is significantly lower.
However, the bonuses like +25% DPS for ALL heroes is of extreme value and totally worth upgrading all heroes as much as possible.
Overall, it was a pretty good idle game. There are just two small issues with this game when finishing it: 1.) When multiple level upgrades (that ones in the box on the left) are purchased at a time, the characters carry out a full conversation back to back to back explaining each upgrade without giving us the ability to skip/fast-forward them. This is especially a headache when we purchased 7 upgrades and are waiting for them to say we finished the game. 2.) There should be high scores for this game if you're timing us.
This needs a safety feature for pausing the game when you click outside of the screen. I went from full health to 1 life left because I accidentally clicked outside of the area.
Impossible badge is literally impossible without a mouse considering it takes about a full second for a piece to drop far enough for another piece to be dropped, meaning you can only do this with a mouse.
Is Sacred Seasons dead now? I'm getting error messages with it trying to connect. It's such a let down considering the time and money I put into my character.
I wish I would have known you had to get the triangle pieces in order. I did the long wall climb (the most difficult one) TWICE, opened the chest piece containing the triangle, went back to the main door and no new piece appeared. It wasn't until I did the easier wall climb that a new piece appeared, forcing me to do the long wall climb a THIRD time just to get the final piece.
After a few levels and getting bored, I skip to level 59 (last level) and find that it's just as difficult as levels 6-10...this game seems to miss the whole "increase in difficulty" that every other game manages.
Quickest finish - At the beginning, move forward into the maze, quickly get the gun and then proceed out of the maze from the way you went in. Then move to the bottom of the screen and hold the down arrow, you'll see the maze disappear and eventually the credits section with a message saying you won, the score and the bonus timer counting down. Just a few more screens and you'll be in the boss room. Take the boss out with ~roughly hits or so from the side where there aren't any spikes. Voila, you'll have a really fast end time and should easily achieve the "Flawless" achievement.
There should be more badges than just purchasing the arena. This game is HUGE and consumes much more of every player's time than nearly any other game on kongregate for the game categories this is under (MMORPGs are a different story).
Haha you're right I'm a back-end dude mainly :P
